In Promotion Wars, my WWA building has gone well, despite the fact that the WWF is now very close to pulling 7s in the ratings. Two weeks ago, WWA Monday Nitro set a program record with a 1.77 rating (compared with RAW's 6.48). Business is going well, though, establishing the WWA as a future contender to the World Wrestling Federation.
A lot of it has to do with my stealing-- er, borrowing-- a few WWF Superstars. Only five of my original wrestlers remain: Psicosis, Juventud Guerrera, Crowbar, Danny Dominion and Vampire Warrior. I've signed Chris Jericho, Goldberg (to my never-ending regret), Chris Benoit, Lance Storm, Low Ki', RVD, Rey Mysterio Jr., and plenty of others.
My strategy so far has been to sign wrestlers with the highest possible entertainment values-- hoping that if I keep using them, their draw value will surely go up over time. This has most notably paid off in the case of Juventud Guerrera, who is up to a draw rating of 85 from his original 74 in only a few months' time.
As a matter of fact, Juvi has really been one of my brightest stars. He consistently gets “best match” awards (he's up to a fed-leading 19 at the moment), so I consistently keep using him. He has won my World Television Title and my International Cruiserweight Title-- and at my most recent PPV, he actually defeated Chris Benoit to win the WWA World Heavyweight Championship.
That's right-- Juventud Guerrera is my World Heavyweight Champion. And the fans dig that, since he's an 85-96-- probably one of the top three or four wrestlers in the entire industry at this point.
My strategy of building the draw value of those wrestlers with high entertainment value has yet to really pay off, with the obvious exception of Juvi. I've signed Air Raid, and they're both up to a draw value of about 77 now, with four tag-team title reigns under their belts.
Anyway. I'm rambling. One last thing: My current date and current champions.
Current Date: September 3, 2002
WWA World Heavyweight Champion: Juventud Guerrera (85-96; defeated Chris Benoit on 8/11/02)
WWA World Television Champion: Rob Van Dam (91-96; defeated Chris Jericho on 8/21/02)
WWA International Cruiserweight Champion: A.J. Styles (78-88; defeated Psicosis for the vacant belt on 8/12/02. Belt was held up when champion Juventud Guerrera defeated Benoit to win the World Title).
WWA Hardcore Champion: Hayabusa (83-93; defeated Perry Saturn on 7/24/02)
WWA World Tour Champion: Shane Conway (26-94; defeated Shinjiro Ohtani on 8/21/02)
WWA World Tag Team Champions: The Island Boys (Kimo [62-84] and O. G. Ekmo [61-82]; defeated The Flying Dragons [Hakushi and Dragon Kid] on 8/14/02).
Anyway. For those of you who are grotesquely fascinated by what other people are doing in the game, I'm glad I satisfied your curiousity. If you're still reading this far, you're either me, or you should be commended. LOL!
“I didn't say it would be easy, Neo. I just said it would be the truth.”
(Unless I job him to Rock or somebody before then...)
(And, Yes, I do play as the WWF. It's fun to run programs that you think would be fun.)
If you're curious I suppose:
Unified Champion: Scott Stiener (Won at Summerslam from RVD) I.C. Champion: DDP (Won from Raven at the RAW after Survivor Series) European Champion: Kanyon (Won from DDP at Summerslam) Cruiserweight Champion: Billy Kidman (Won from Rey Misterio at Royal Rumble) Hardcore Champion: Tazz (won from Rhyno at Vengence) Tag Champs: Test & Christian (won from Shelton Benjamin & Brock Lesner at Vengence)
Have you found out any way at all to choose the winner of the Royal Rumble matches? I remember it was annoying when I played as the WWF and someone outrageous like Kimo ended up winning.
“I didn't say it would be easy, Neo. I just said it would be the truth.”
No. It's completely random (hense my tally of Royal Rumble Winners: X-Pac, Test, Simon Diamond, and one actual ok one in Kevin Nash in this game).
The only thing I can tell you, is that it tends to favor people near the end of the Rumble Booking list. So if the last person I select is Shawn Stasiak and the first person I select is Booker T, Stasiak has a better shot. But past that, there's not much else you can do...
Anybody know how I can change the size of the screen for Promotion Wars? I can't get the screen to fit on my computer in my room, I can play it on the computer in my mom's room, but then i can't use it at night while she is trying to sleep, which is when i want to use it. So does anybody know any way to change the size?
Ya don't have to INSULT me. I just don't like people who say "cunt". Even Richard Pryor avoided that bad boy. Dave Chappelle is good too, because while he does curse it's not every other word.
