Here's my question upon reflection:

Why did they bleep Limp Bizkit?

Isn't this PPV?

good question, Ex. I think the thing was rated TV-14. I guess that allows you to say "shit" but not the f-bomb.

All I've read is that Michaels should have jobbed. Blah blah blah. I'm a firm believer that it doesn't matter who loses, but how they play the game (no pun intended). Michaels sold like crazy for Jericho making him look like the badass he can be. Michaels and Jericho put on one hell of a match that made both men look great, so who cares? I personally loved the look on Jericho's face as if he was getting ready to cry after losing. THAT looked real. I think it was real and so was the hug. However, when Jericho kneed him in the balls, Jericho took it to the next level and became the personal hero of everyone here watching in the room. THAT is heel charisma.

Anyway, I'm soooo tired of hearing about it. I think that after watching an incredibly good Mania like this one you should be able to talk about more than "F you HHH" and "F you Shawn".

Get well soon Kurt, Batista, Randy, Edge, Kevin, Scotty, Bubba, Regal....

Man, that's depressing...and I know there's people I've forgotten!

(test subjects: 30-year old woman, her 23-year old brother and their 50+ Mother)

The good:
I've always been a big Shawn Michaels fan. For me, that match was match of the night because I saw glimmers of the HBK that I drooled over 10 years ago. That man has charisma that doesn't stop. He took a really lame entrance (geez...confetti guns??!) and made it work even when the guns were broken. Both HBK and Jericho did fantastic. But Shawn won because, in this storyline, the veteran had the extra amount of 'experience' that his protege didn't. And when Shawn extended his hand to Jericho, I was rooting for Jericho to kick him in the gut. Why? Because it made for such a delicious ending. Who would have liked it if Jericho softened into a "yes, Sensei, you have schooled me well" demeanor. Screw that! He lost and was MAD!

Rock/Austin: I liked the pacing and intensity of this match. Rock in Austin's vest was weird, though. I did enjoy that moment when the Rock was pointing to his head and calling for applause, "Hey..that was a smart move! Cheer me!" End result of match left all three of us speechless. Which, I guess is good in an entertainment sense.

Trish/Victoria/Jazz: I used to use the women's matches to stretch my legs, grab another drink, etc. No more. Those three rock. I used to be very down on Trish -- another silicone Barbie doll trying to wrestle. (think Sable) But she's come such a long way, baby. She takes bumps and hits spots like there is no tomorrow. Mom liked this one a lot. Brother did too, for different reasons.

Vince McMahon, bloody and crazed, rising up from behind the ring apron with a lead pipe in his hand. That image will stay with me for a very long time.

Hugo bled!

Props to Ashanti. Boos to her agent. Wrestlemania is NOT an R&B audience, but although she looked TERRIFIED at first, she did a good job with the song and merited applause. And she knows more than the first verse, which is more than I can say for myself.

Brock's F-5s and Shooting Star press. When Brock started climbing the ropes, brother and I lept to our feet in anticipation. Brother's a Brock nut. He marked out the entire match.

Shane O'Mac in his fiiiiiiiiiine suit. Drool. Brother calls me a hypocrite because I rag on Steph all the time for being a dog, and yet I drool when her practically look-alike brother comes out. Yes, Shane and Steph look similar. Difference is, Steph LOOKS like a man. Shane IS one.

The bad:

Frankly, I don't care if it's Jesus and Satan wrestling, four hours is too long for a PPV, especially when you have to pad it with junk like Limp Bizkit and Catfight Girls and dozens of video montages.

Catfight girls: Funny in beer ad, lame everywhere else. When they were smacking each other with pillows on the bed, Mom asked, "is that all they've got?" Gotta love a Mom who has been watching wrestling with her kids for over 20 years now. Brother said they should have added Jazz to the mix. Evil brother.

Lawler. Ugh. Firstly, he looks like he's had at least 3 bad face/eye lifts. Secondly, I know he's the heel announcer, but what he did during the HHH/Booker match was just horrible. Booker was born on a pool table? Wtf? I hadn't been this pissed at Lawler since the "Kane killed his girlfriend" angle from a while back. And this is from a girl who was happy when Lawler came back to the WWF.

Brock/Angle: Kurt Angle is one of my faves. That said, I hate watching matches where I wince everytime a spot is hit. I hate worrying that a wrestler is going to have to be carried out on a stretcher after his match is done. Makes me yearn for the days of old, before the Internet and before WWE started publicizing injuries. If I didn't know about the neck problems, I'd simply think it was a mediocre match. And having BROCK be hurt at the end was just a sick, unexpected twist. Having never attempted a move like that in my life, even *I* knew Angle was too far away for Brock to make the spot. That bruise on his head...the dazed look...the nosebleed. I was sick to my stomach.

Rock/Austin: It's disconcerting to watch Austin take a fall for the Rock, who's just going to go off and make another subpar movie. Mom is continuing to express disgust for the Rock's new tattoo.

UT/Albert/Show: Yawn. This was my bathroom break/stretch the legs match.

Booker/HHH: Boo! Hiss!! Loved the match, HATED the outcome. Has Booker's "five time! five time! five time!" totally ruined his chances for holding WWE gold? Maybe if he started banging the boss's doggie daughter...

And, the moment of simultaneous joy and horror:

Piper: AIEEEEE! My eyes! I didn't recognize him at first just from his face. When we saw the kilt, Brother and I marked out like you had just shaved 20 years from our ages. Then I saw the paunch. Oh, God...how I so fear the ravages of age.

Final words (the Weinerboard community cheers):

I went 6 for 9 in my predictions (I picked Booker, Jericho and Austin). Brother went 3 for 9, Mom went 2 for 9. Pretty sad, considering they watch the weekly shows and I don't anymore.

You're a class act, Mr. Angle. It's true. Now go get yourself fixed up and come back as a manager.

I was not so impreseed. Glad we did not have to se Eric Bishoff. I think from a 1-10 i give this one a 6. The only reason was HBK and HHH winning. Oh and Vince wrestling. Gross! Limp Bizkit was awesome and The Rock and Stone Cold was great. Overall though it could of been better.

Wrestling wise, a good show.
Booking wise, a bad show.

I'm not going to elaborate, as what i say has allready been said 85 times. Oh, for the chick above me, I took a dump during Limp Bizkit and I don't know why I had that urge.

If you really want to degrade her, you should call her a "skirt". Or maybe you get lots of "chicks" with sweet moves like you just made. Ugh.
But I agree... Limp Bizkit was/is absolutely horrible. The crowd didn't seem into it at all during the performance... they only seemed to cheer when Fred shut the fuck up.

As for the women's match, I , and many others, have been very impressed with Trish's improvement as a worker. The three women put on a good match and the face overcame two heels to win a belt. Sounds important to me.

And I prefer Joe Friday.

Trish has improved but I still think she's so overrated. I don't know, but her work just isn't all that impressive to me, and I hate that standing leg scissors move, it just doesn't look...very good. Jazz is much better...but not blonde and skinny.

Would you say Trish is as good Alundra was in her prime? I still believe she has long way to go and I cringe at the idea of her trying to compete against Japanese women.

I've always been a big Shawn Michaels fan. For me, that match was match of the night because I saw glimmers of the HBK that I drooled over 10 years ago. That man has charisma that doesn't stop. The reason I could think of is that in the UK WrestleMania was being shown on some sort of Sky Sports network, so maybe they are bleeping it out for the UK station not to get in too much trouble. Don't know for sure that's my guess.

As for Trish being overrated, I don't know about that, I mean she's not as good in-ring as Jazz or Molly. But looking at the women named in the recent Lycos top 20 (which was posted here), Trish is the only one listed that I feel that shown real wrestling ability. So it's good to have a woman with star power and shown over again willing to give the rub to her opponents and make them looking even stronger then she does... I think her selling and bumping is as strong as any woman I've ever seen and one of the top in the roster, she really makes it look like she's getting her ass kicked when she's in there, that's really her strong suit. I think her offense has improved too, she seems more comfortable and confident in there. Her basics seem better and hey I dig the kicks. And adding new stuff all the time like last nights bridging pin attempt.

Looking at last years WM women match with 2 out 3 participants in that match, Trish seems a lot more comfortable in there this year and this years match came off much better. Match also came off better because Victoria > Lita... I think Trish will be feuding with Jazz next probably drop the title to her and at that time she'll let Jazz look like the toughest most violent women in the planet, if you're a Jazz fan I wouldn't worry too much, Trish has put over non blondes/skinny types before. BTW, don't know how skinny Trish is, she's got that soft luv bodytype going on. LoL

Well, Vanilla, with me, it's just "F you Shawn", LOL. That's only because his character annoyed me for years, not the man himself. I was so happy that Y2J kicked him in the ballz. Jericho'll win the war for sure! I was considering an "F you HHH", but when I see on RAW that they are still feuding, I withdrew that. I'm really getting into that feud, and as long as it leads to Booker winning (just so Hunter can take a small vacation to rest up all his aches), then it's all good. HHH-Booker and HBK-Y2J look to be compelling and entertaining multi-month feuds from my point of view, and that's something we haven't had for some time, if memory serves.

OK. I've belonged to this big, classical choral group for about 12 years. About the only time I've missed any particular portion of the season would be if I was doing a project with another group.
