In the thread I just started over in the Politics folder, I previewed it, then wanted to add something, so instead of posting it and editing it, I merely hit back, as the text at the top led me to believe that was the easiest way to do it. When I went back, though, all the text was gone. Am I not supposed to do that, or is it something unfixable, or is it just this computer?
This stuff is usually kept in a cache. "Make sure you haven't set your cache to zero" is all the useful help I can provide. (I don't have this problem any more so I can't be more helpful, sorry.)
I've had that happen on occasion as well, EJH81. While it could be just a coincidence, it seems to occur when another reply is made between the time you begin typing your reply and the time you hit your back button (i.e., you're in a thread that already has two replies. You hit reply at, say, 2:00 and begin typing what would be the third reply in the thread. However, by the time you preview your post and decide to make a change it's 2:15 and someone else has already posted reply number three in the thread. At that point, you hit your back button, and your text is gone). Again, it could be just a coincidence, but if my observations are right that's when the problem appears to occur.
As to a work-around, I've made it a point to follow NHS's suggestion and copy all my text to my clipboard before hitting "Preview reply". Hope this helps.
EDIT: Well, I just re-read your post, EJH81, and since you were actually starting a new thread, obviously my example doesn't apply. Unless, of course, you substitute "thread" for "reply". Oh well.

Hey sorry I'm late - birthday week and all that. This most recent megaclick came early Saturday morning by the Bingbot, one of the few bots I'm not actively blocking. "Closest" W on either side were Big G (-6034) and cfgb (+539).
