Rapper Fabolous will appear at WWE WrestleMania XIX this Sunday to accept John Cena's challenge for a rap battle. No other details are currently available.

I guess the biggest mainstream thing Fabolous has done is a song called "Trade it off" with P. Diddy or Puff Daddy or whatever he's calling himself these days. It's actually not a bad song, but c'mon, Fabolous? Why not get somebody someone has heard of, or will actually cheer for, like Ludacris or Snoop Dogg. Hell, I would have settled for the Lox or Mr. Cheeks....

By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

Wasn't Fabolous also in a Foot Locker commercial or something?

Also, I couldn't help but laugh after hearing about Fabolous' appearance after I saw this just the other day

courtesy 411mania.com

Fabolous and four others were arrested on Sunday for weapons possession charges. Police found a loaded 9 mm in Fabolous' car following his performance at Webster Hall in New York.

As of Monday, Fabolous was still in custody and awaiting arraignment.

Maybe he took the job for bail money?

What's worse is the fact that Cena is going to involve himself in this charade at WrestleMania, THEN go into a program with the WWE Champion. Just a tad...odd.

Wait, do you NOT think this has potential to be pretty interesting?

i don't think it's the fact that it won't be interesting or amusing, just not the thing you think of immediately preceding a world title feud (which may or may not happen). but at the same time, at least it's something that keeps him in the fans' eyes, and if it makes him look good and furthers his character/persona, then i'm all for it.

Dammit. I was sure Snoop Dogg was going to show up. Ludicris would have been my second choice.

The only thing I remember about Fabulous is that in one of his videos, there's a scene where he gives a huge bankroll to a bum on the subway. To which I said "If Fabulous is so rich that he can do that, why the hell is he riding the subway?"

It seems that I am - in no particular order - Zack Morris, John Adams, a Siren, Janeane Garofalo, Cheer Bear, Aphrodite, a Chihuahua, Data, Cletus the Slack Jawed Yokel, Amy-Wynn Pastor, Hydrogen, Bjork, Spider-Man, Boston, and a Chaotic Good Elvin Bard-Mage.

I figured that Snoop would be there for sure, especially after the GGW deal. I could have seen Snoop coming out with Divas as his "hos". I guess Fabulous was cheaper.

dude, the subway is the fun way to travel.

(I'm just thrilled that someone besides me heard that 50 Cent mention.)

Just remember, there is always the possibility that this is being used as the stage for the return of Bradshaw, in which case the legendary Redneck/Rap feud from WCW '99 will be brought back to life. Any sightings of RoboCop in Seattle yet?
