Interview with the resident Freak.

http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/article_3124.shtml

This week on The No Holds Barred radio show Jeff Hardy joined us and here are the highlights.

Jeff put over the Hardy Boys new book and said it contains a lot of emotion. It is the story of the Hardy Boys following their dream of becoming WWE superstars since they first started watching wrestling around the time of Wrestlemania 4.

Jeff talked of his love for music and his passion for freestyle motorcross. He calls doing both in his free time great stress relief. He wants his fans to stick with him even though he has other interests besides wrestling.

Jeff said he is very focused on his singles career and he feels it allows him to be more of himself. He says that during the Team Extreme phase, he had a lot of fun but it was very difficult for him to be who he really is.

He loved working with Shawn Michaels and said there should be more between the two of them to come in the future. He calls H.B.K. a huge role model and said many in the company want to see more of Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaels whether it be in singles action against each other or combined as a tag team.

He calls the TLC matches with the Dudley Boys and Edge and Christian a workshop of memories. He said he never gets tired of watching those matches. He mentioned all three teams always wanted the next match to be better then the last one. He said his body never took such a beating and after those matches he had a hard time getting out of bed.

Jeff loves being on Raw because he feels it can get more crazy then Smackdown. He joked that he changes his look (hair color and tattoos) all the time because it creates more Jeff Hardy action figures.

He said his career highlights as a singles wrestler were winning the Intercontinental title from Triple H and his famous ladder match with the Undertaker.

We asked Jeff if he had a choice of being a part of the best selling rock band or WWE champion, which would he choose? He said he would be a part of the best selling rockband. Although, Jeff did say he would not leave the wrestling business until he becomes a world champion.

To hear the entire interview, log on to www.noholdsbarredwrestling.com. The audio should be up very shortly. The No Holds Barred radio show will broadcast live this Sunday from Seattle for Wrestlemania 19. Log on to the website for all the details.

True. Instead of blowing spots for only 1/2 the match, he can do it the entire match.

We asked Jeff if he had a choice of being a part of the best selling rock band or WWE champion, which would he choose?

Good. Maybe he'll leave soon...

Ah, nuts.

He:

1) is not entertaining
2) looks horrible (appearance-wise)
3) looks sloppy in the ring
4) looks unmotivated in the ring

And, unlike his brother, he shows no signs of wanting to improve as a wrestler.

I'm not "hating" on him personally, I just don't want to see him wrestle ever again.

that's quite a lot of opinion stated as fact.

despite his displaying a lack of motivation in the ring at times, i am still entertained by jeff hardy and i've always liked his ring gear. now a little less than the hardy boyz days, but what can you do. jeff has to do what he sees in his imagi-nation :-D

Good to know Jeff isn't going anywhere in at least the next 400 years. Add in "or until hell freezes over" if it suits you better.

Opinion?

Hey, he was asking why I was hating on him, so I gave him my view on Jeff.

And for the record, I never liked either Hardy (up until Mattitude). At least Matt found a personality and made himself interesting, at least character-wise (his ringwork still leaves a little to be desired).

If Jeff showed the same passion, instead of doing the same tired act, maybe he wouldn't be in that boat.

With the exception of #2 (and possibly #1 depending on what bumps he'll be doing), I could be.

But that's got more to do w/ the WWE burying him while being one of, if not *the*, most over face on Raw, while Jeff is just broken down.

Is there some sort of scientific chart that shows who is *the* most over guy on either roster? That would probably be a great tool to have lying around.

yeah i don't know, i think most of the reason i like jeff now is that i loved the hardy boyz tag team, and jeff is like the last remaining part of that team; matt has moved on and gotten his own personality, while jeff has stayed behind to recapture his tag team glory days. the thing is, i doubt he's winning any NEW fans that didn't know the hardyz to begin with..

So Hogan is the most over face in the WWE then, right?

If only we could all be so lucky. My ears hear great big pops for Taker, HBK and Hogan and plenty heat for Trips. Conversely they hear dead crowds for the likes of Team Angle matches.

Through my time in the IWC I have come to learn that my ears are thus more than likely deffective. One day I hope to trade them in for spanky new proper ears that hear these great big uber pops only for RVD,Y2J,Angle and Benoit matches while providing handy 'NAH NAH NAH I CAN'T HEAR YOU' noises to drown out any reaction to HHH et al.

Yes, Hogan *is* over. It wouldn't make much sense to push him seriously, though, but he is over.

--RVD got huge pops, and they've only died down w/in the past few months (coincidently, in time w/ his burial, hmmm...)
--Benoit got a standing "o" in Boston, although he generally does draw the least pops out of those you listed
--Angle draws good heel heat in his matches, and was drawing face heat right before siding w/ Heyman.
--Jericho draws decent heel heat, although he's been really de-pushed since his feud w/ HHH.

Aw Spiff I was only playing with you. I know that Angle and Jericho get good heat and I love both guys to bits, I was merely having a poke at all those who refuse to acknowledge that the likes of Taker and HHH are over with the ordinary fan.

Every week when I watch SD Taker and (whachspit) Rikishi get among the biggest pops of the night. On Raw HHH consistently attracts heat (though his entrance still gets pops) and more recently Steiner has received pretty big reactions. We might not agree with who the crowd like, but if you're going to use 'overness' as a yard stick of success then people should at least use it fairly.

And I presume you are suggesting that Hogan should not be pushed in spite of the pops he gets because there are other factors (ie age) which means he wouldn't be successful long term? Equally there are other factors (no selling, poor promos, poor ring psychology etc.) that would mean an RVD push might not go to well. Add to that the fact that he was injuring people left and right before his burial (if you can call fighting for the tag titles at WM that) and you've got a pretty good case for keeping the guy where he is on the card.

I personally dig his as a character. His matches are routinely ones that me and my neighbor watch due to the fact that he entertains. His move last night in the corner on richards where he kicked him in the face was a very welcome change in move repetoire.

I think Jeff Hardy is in that vicious cycle where he's not motivated when the bookers aren't giving him anything interesting to do, but because he's not motivated, the bookers don't have any reason to think he warrants being given something interesting to do. Jeff/UT was my favorite match of '02, but he hasn't shown that kind of main event potential in several months. Has he ever had a great match that wasn't a gimmick match? It seems like a lot of his best stuff would be grounds for a DQ in a regular match. I think they should go ahead and turn him heel and give him a manager/bodyguard/follower/valet who can hand him steel chairs and set up ladders, and distract the ref so he can use them.
