OK, so now that it is established that the NWO is arriving at No Way Out, what do you think the Wrestlemania card should look like with these new additions to the roster? I'd like to see:
Triple H vs. Jericho (c) w/ Stephanie for the undisputed title
Hogan vs. Austin
Outsiders (c) vs. Brothers of Destruction for the tag titles
(yeah, it would suck quality-wise, but it's a "dream" matchup for some)
RVD vs. Edge (c) for the IC title
DDP (c) vs. Lance Storm for the Euro title
Tajiri (c) vs. X-Pac (c) vs. Hurricance vs. Kidman for the undisputed cruiserweight title (this goes against what X-Pac said in his WWF.com interview, but oh well)
Goldust vs. The Rock
William Regal vs. Chris Benoit (if he's back by then)
Mr. Perfect vs. Kurt Angle
Booker T vs. Val Venis
Big Show vs. Rikishi (yeah, it would be bad, but you know both will have to be on the card)
Vince vs. Flair
Billy/Chuck vs. APA vs. Hardys vs. Dudleys: #1 contenders match
So you have a #1 Contenders Tag Match, but no actual title defense?
And you plug in Hogan-Austin, something they would have less than a month of actual hype to but behind, for the top 2 (or at least 2 of 3, Rock) name (mainstream) guys in wrestling for the past 20 years?
I guess we're past the point of saying certain things shouldn't be happening, so I say that they should do this match at either of the SS pay per views, and then do the rematch at next year's Mania. I imagine with Hogan winning the first by Nefarious Means and Austin getting the win back at WM.
Actually, I did have a tag title match on there. If you'll refer back to my post you will see that I have the Outsiders as champions defending against Undertaker and Kane. I'm sure a scenario like that would make some people cringe, but you know something like that is going to happen eventually anyways.
No, it's not much time to build up Hogn vs. Austin, but that's the way things go today. Besides, it's big enough that it doesn't need tons of build up like a match with less heat would. Four or five weeks means either 8 or 10 two-hour shows. That is a lot of buil up in today's WWF. Plus, in a way it's already been building up ever since Austin became as popular, or more, than Hogan.
I would go with something like this as the backbone of my WM card... 1)World Title: Jericho(C) V. Triple H 2)#1 contender match: Rock V. Austin 3)IC Title, 4 corners match: William Regal(C) V. Edge V. RVD V. Goldust
"How does it feel? SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK!!" -Trent Reznor, Suck.
Hey, sorry about totally missing the Outsiders as tag champs. I'd cringe, but I don't really care about tag team wrestling anymore. (Thanks to Cracka Eazy E!)
Your explanation of Austin/Hogan does make a lot of sense, especially when you added in "but that's the way things go today", because it's sadly true. My scenario involved old-school smarky booking and that slow burn thing that's been going around lately. So basically, it won't be happening my way.
I was going to say something about that Goldust/Rock match, but I just didn't put forth the effort. I think it'd be a sad, sad way of Rock finally getting that "big" WM win... because it wouldn't be big. Yeah. As much as I'd like to see Perfect vs. Angle, I think Rock deserves a good solid win over a guy like Angle instead of Dust, since Dust has really lost all luster to his character lately.
I wouldn't mind seeing Book vs. RVD again, maybe with Perfect somehow plugged into that IC title match. He just deserves it, because between he and Bret, they MADE the IC title before Everybody And Their Brother made it worthless.

Ok.
Hogan vs. Austin
Actually, I think they'll get off with a six man tag of say Rock/Austin/? v. The nWo. For the moment, we'll say that "?" is...I dunno...Kane.
Outsiders (c) vs. Brothers of Destruction for the tag titles
(yeah, it would suck quality-wise, but it's a "dream" matchup for some)
I've got the Hardyz v. Either the Dudleyz or Billy and Chuck
RVD vs. Edge (c) for the IC title
I dunno maybe. Who's the heel? I'll say this is where they do Regal v. RVD v. Edge
DDP (c) vs. Lance Storm for the Euro title
Eh.
Tajiri (c) vs. X-Pac (c) vs. Hurricance vs. Kidman for the undisputed cruiserweight title (this goes against what X-Pac said in his WWF.com interview, but oh well)
If they even HAVE a cruiser bout on the card. I'm not too sure. I doubt that Kidman will be back in time for that, seeing as he's "fired"
Goldust vs. The Rock
No. No way will they push Rock THIS far down the card. I don't even see Goldy wrestling at Mania. Maybe I'm wrong...But I don't know.
William Regal vs. Chris Benoit (if he's back by then)
I don't think he will be. But if he is, I think he'd wrestle Angle
Mr. Perfect vs. Kurt Angle
Sounds like a nice match, but who's the face?
Booker T vs. Val Venis
Sounds like a nice match, but who's the face?
Big Show vs. Rikishi (yeah, it would be bad, but you know both will have to be on the card)
Unless they turn one of these guys heel, not likely
Vince vs. Flair
No. They just did this match, and for two non-workers, I don't think they'd do it again this soon.
Billy/Chuck vs. APA vs. Hardys vs. Dudleys: #1 contenders match
I don't know. Whatever.
So in my WrestleMania workers not having Matches that probably would: Booker and Undertaker
Gee, what match would they have for the women's title.....hm.....hey, you, shaved monkey with the kazoo in the corner, what do you think. Yea, just what I thought, another goddamn Jazz vs. Trish match. I say bring back the cruiser title and get rid of this thing.
MY WRESTLEMANIA CARD: Undisputed Title: Jericho (c) vs. HHH Stone Cold vs. Hogan Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker The Rock vs. Chris Benoit Tazzzzzzz vs. Scott Steiner IC TITLE: Rob Van Dam vs. D'Lo Brown (I can dream, can't I?) EURO TITLE: D.D.P. (c) vs. Lance Storm TAG TITLES: Chuckabilly (c) vs. The Outsiders Val Venis vs. Rikishi The Big Show vs. Test Goldust vs. Kane Tag Team Turmoil: APA, Christian/somebody, 3 Count, Hardyz, Dudleyz, Spike/somebody
and, god-willing... The nWo vs. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley in a GOD DAMNIT, GET THE F*CK OFF MY TV RIGHT NOW YOU UGLY WHINY B*TCH MATCH (otherwise known as "cracking Steph with a lead pipe")
I would mark the HELL OUT if the nWo were to take Stephanie off my television. But that would turn them into faces, wouldn't it? And that's a bad thing, right?
“I didn't say it would be easy, Neo. I just said it would be the truth.”
Austin/Flair/???/??? vs. Hogan/Hall/Nash/"their fourth man"...the WWF can hype the hell out of this mystery
Rock vs. Undertaker
Regal vs. RVD for the Intercontinental title
Jazz vs. Trish for the woman's title
Tazz/Spike vs. Billy & Chuck for the tag titles
Hardcore/European unification match (these titles can be combined in order to give Smackdown a secondary title for after the split): DDP vs. Maven vs. Winner of a battle royal open to any former European or Hardcore champs. The guest list for the battle royal would get pretty fun; Angle, Kane, the Hardys, Test, Christian, Al Snow, Bradshaw, Crash Holly, X-Pac, Val Venis, Boss Man, Perry Saturn, Big Show, Hurricane Helms, etc.
Edge vs. Rikishi or somebody; Edge gets an easy hometown win in Toronto
Tajiri vs. Lance Storm for the cruiserweight title
(edited by Big Bad on 8.2.02 1256)
I was born in a manger, like that other guy. You know, he wore a hat?
Okay, for the nWo thing at WMx8 I want to see Austin and Rock in some kind of Tag Team match against Nash and Hall, or maybe a 6 man with Hogan and somebody else in it as well. Basically I want to have Rock and Austin doing well, and in the end dominating the match, but each of them breaking up the others pins because each wants to be the one who wins at Wrestlemania. In the end they both lose when one of them (or better, their third man... Flair? Kane?) gets pinned while they're brawling with each other.
Austin/Angle/Flair vs Hogan/Outsiders - this gets Angle in a rightfully deserved high place on the card rewarding him for the past year...plus it builds dissention on team Flair
Rock/UT
4 corners: Edge/Regal/RVD/Goldust
Tazz/Spike vs Dudleys - ECW Stairway to Hell match
DDP/Booker T
Maven hardcore battle royal match
Kane/Test - since neither are doing shit
#1 tag match: Christian/Storm/Chuckabilly/APA/Hardys
Deep Space Nine's Jeffrey Combs as Bischoff. That's a no-brainer. I've always though Dustin Hoffman would be a great Flair. They look alike, anyway. Ditto on the Joaquin Phoenix for Shane.
