Sid Vicious Forced To Officially Retire Due To Injury Posted By Widro on 03.22.03
Still one of the all time grossest injuries
Quietly, Sid Vicious has announced that he is retiring from in-ring work.
Sid broke his leg in horrific fashion live on Nitro in the dying days of WCW, and will never regain full mobility of the leg. The injury will prevent him from working again in the ring.

Sid didn't break his leg on Nitro, they merely showed the replays on Nitro from the previous night's pay per view, SIN. In essence he's been retired since this happened way back in 2001, so it isn't that big of news. Still, sucks to be a Sid fan right now.

I marked for Sid whenever he was a surprize in something, but shortly afterwards, I got bored with his interview style. I mean, the first time I heard him do his "Master...and ruler...of the universe" think, it was cool, but there's only so many times
(a) you can mumble out of the corners of your mouth, (b) then shake your head, causing litres and litres of sweat or water fly everywhere, (c) and start screaming like a madman
1) His AWESOME match with Shawn Michaels at MSG at Survivor Series '96.
2) Damn near decapitating poor Brian Pillman in Wargames 1991 by powebombing him right on the back of his head.
3) Single handily saving Great American Bash '99 from being the worst PPV ever by his "Holy Shit" surprise run-in at the end. I've never been a huge Sid fan, but I remember marking out during that run-in, as NOBODY saw it coming.
Met Sid, way back when he was LORD HUMONGOUS wrestling for USWA. Met him in the bathroom at a high school gym in Kossuth Mississippi, where he was there, in full gear, including mask, and he was coming out of the crapper. He looked at me and said "sorry about the stink" and walked out. I laughed my ass off and then went out to watch Jerry Lawler beat him in about 10 minutes.
