For those who may doubt that GW and his administration are vile, money hungy bastards, check out this site...

Score Card of Evil

I don't remember when and where I got this link, but it's pretty informative. Someone should be keeping tabs on this kind of crap.

Gee, with half of those things not "evil" at all, a good part of them lies, and the rest exaggerations- oh yeah, that list is REAL informative.
I suppose next we are going to get a list of good deeds that Saddaam has done, like sparing the life of a poor girl scout, and not torturing a guy on his mother's birthday.
Poor timing on that list, I think friend.

You also need to keep in mind the source. Someone could just as easily have done the same for Clinton, ya know.

That said, some of the stuff he's done is disturbing, some is just plain wrong (not incorrect, mind you, but just shouldn't happen), and I'm sure there's some definite nitpicking in there as well. But really, there's a reason that we haven't heard of some of these things: The mainstream American media doesn't report shit about the President, no matter who's in there.

And many have. I mean, at least this list doesn't imply he's responsible for the death of everyone who happened to meet him, or meet someone who met him.

It seems that I am - in no particular order - Zack Morris, John Adams, a Siren, Janeane Garofalo, Cheer Bear, Aphrodite, a Chihuahua, Data, Cletus the Slack Jawed Yokel, Amy-Wynn Pastor, Hydrogen, Bjork, Spider-Man, Boston, and a Chaotic Good Elvin Bard-Mage.

I have to wonder why exactly you chose today to make your first post in the Politics folder (or at least first in months), and with this content.

I also continue to hope no one around here feeds the trolls...oops this thread is already more than one post long, too late - man this message board SUCKS

I'm trying to make this sound as nice as possible, because this in no way is meant to be a flame.

Now, I'm not being even being sarcastic here. You are aware that someone can be against the war without being pro-Saddam Hussein, right? This is the major discovery I made discussing this war today. The overwhelming majority of the pro-war people can't seem to comprehend that we don't support Bush *or* Hussein. They seem to have trouble seeing in anything besides black and white. (Which also explains the "Why do you hate America?" bullshit, because, if they can't grasp shades of grey, any criticism of the government immediately translates into "I hate America and everything it stands for".)

I don't mean to single you out here, but I seriously think I figured out why everything we say gets lost in the translation.

And someone didn't just say that the mainstream media never reported things that Clinton did wrong, did they? Tell me they did not just say that.

(And, yeah, this is horribly bad timing on the thread, especially from someone who's anything but a regular in this forum, and it would've been awful timing if *I* posted it.)

EDIT: But the link *does* explain quite clearly why I don't like, trust or respect George W. Bush. I just wish it wasn't done in such a heavy-handed fashion that people who don't click on the link in agreement with their perspective will still be able to take the facts presented seriously.

It's kind of like how if they reported that tomorrow morning the sun will rise on Faux News, I'd still be wary because of the source.

EDIT II: And this isn't feeding the trolls - I'm responding to Pool-Boy. Insert your own joke here. >

I think you are right, OFB, that you can be against a war without being Pro- Saddam. You can also be anti-Bush and not be Pro-Saddam.

However, there is a line you should not cross, ever. I could NEVER stand Clinton. But I never once referred to him as evil. I can't stand Grey Davis now- and I could make a laundry list like the one linked to that would make Bush, even under THOSE terms, look like a saint. But I have never called him evil.

I think that was a clear parody/response to the earlier thread about the atrocities that Hussein has committied. To even compare Bush to Hussein and come out on the side that BUSH is the evil one is an idea that I think is ridiculous, and right now offensive.

I have always been open to debate about anything. But that was hateful and disgusting. Yeah, maybe it was "feeding the trolls" but that is something that is tough to tell in this folder. And with the Democratic leadership like Byrd and Dashell spewing very similar trash, (why can't they follow Lieberman's example?) it is tough to distinguish between a "legitimate Democratic argument" and "trolling." Sorry.

Like I said, I am always open to debating the need for war. But to bring in idiocy like our leaders being evil is just way out of line. Call him stupid (I might disagree, but it is not nearly so bad), but evil? come on...

Coming from a Republican stance, some of these are valid points, but there is another side to everything. The tobacco industry is HUGE in America, and employs many MANY Americans, so the very first comment about the Tobacco Law could be seen as Bush wanting to save jobs. As could the logging act.

Other than the fact that this is the most poorly timed post in the history of messages boards, I'm trying to figure how any of this stuff is evil. I mean tax cuts? Evil? Even the most ardent of level-headed liberals would never say tax cuts are "evil".

You know, this is the same kind of crooked-headed "logic" and "facts" I have to deal with in my PolySci classes. It's not just message board trolling; this propogandist bullshit is quickly become the basis for argument and debate, at least at my Arizona college.

Why does being at war automatically mean you have to start thinking or doing things differently? If this post could have been accepted (although debated heavily) before yesterday, why does criticism of the president or the country have to stop when america is at war?

Nobody ever said it would've been accepted yesterday, at least by Bush supporters and frankly by some of the more reasonable liberals.

No- it just means that if you must oppose the President, you do so in a bit more of a respectful and civilized manner (completely unlike the usual debating in this folder). The post that started this thread was completely disrespectful, and offensive. The President is the Commander-in-Chief of our forces, and regardless of whether or not you think well of this war or not, our troops are in danger, and the President is the one who is ultimatley responsible for their safety. You support him, and by extension the troops, now, and berate him later when the war is done.
In times of war, we are SUPPOSED to put away all of the political posturing BS...

Because I said so.

Don't shut off your mind, just shut your mouth. There's a time and a place, and the time is not now and the place is any message board but this one. Jesus Christ, you people are STILL adding to this thread even as I type this. STOP ALREADY. STOP. JUST STOP. Why do I have to close the thread? Do I somehow not make myself clear? Is there some other way I can get through your pointy heads that I WANT YOU TO STOP?
