Something that came to mind that I recall from an episode of WWE's Byte This....

Kevin Nash alluded to the fact that he may come back as Diesel. He stated that "Kevin Nash" has had a history of injuries, but Diesel was relatively injury free. Something to consider.

IMHO, Diesel kicked ass...

Professional wrestling is the only sport where participants are just thrown right into the audience, and no one in the crowd thinks anything unusual is happening. I think Nash will come back with the Kevin Nash name but do a Diesel-type gimmick.

And how do the Diesel and Kevin Nash gimmicks differ, aside from the fact that Diesel did a horn-blowing motion? Oh, and the Diesel enterance was cooler too (I always loved the truck breaking the big screen thing. I don't know why, but I did. Same reason I liked it when Steve Austin's enterance used to include actual glass shatering in the entrance way, I guess.).

It's moreso an attitude than anything else, I suppose. After all, Stone Cold Steve Austin is Stunning Steve Austin, just with a different attitude and whatever else.

I suppose it's kind of like Mick Foley, how he had three distinct characters (and the few times he wrestled as himself).

Differences betwixt Diesel and Nash?

Hrmmm...

Nash was a big dude who powerbombed people with a wink and a nod, and Diesel was Nash + Bikertaker?

(I sat for at least 10 minutes before I came up with that, too.)

Diesel also had flowing, jet black hair and a leather glove and vest. Nash, however, had a personality.

Well, neither drew any money worth mentioning, so whoopty shit. However, I fear this may raise oil prices the world over in order to slick that jungle of poofy blonde hair of his back to the jet black Exxon-Valdez color he needs.

I would LOVE to see Kane vs. Diesel however...just to end that long simmering debate once and for all!

I would kill to see Kane vs. Diesel. Mind you, I've never heard of any debate about the two.

I look at the Nash / Diesel thing in one regard: When was Mick Foley most over? I've always thought it was when he was as MICK FOLEY...not at Mankind, not as anything else. Same thing could go for Nash...maybe an attitude/image change or something like that could assist his career...

ANd yes, I am a Nash mark. So sue me.

Hey that reminds me of a difference between the two. Nash ran a company out of business. Diesel only CAME CLOSE to running a company out of business. He ALMOST bankrupted WWF, but didn't succeed. However, Nash succeeded in running WCW out of business. So there you go.

Why should all the blame of near bankruptcy in WWF be placed on Diesel? I find it hard to believe that one wrestler could cause. I mean, what about the other champions of his era--Bret, Shawn and Yokozuna. Would they deserve blame too? Maybe it was just a bad time for wrestling in general and Diesel as champ happened to not help anything-but not necessarily hurt EVERYthing. No one has to like Nash but saying he solely nearly bankrupted the WWF seems like an exaggeration to me.

Tell me if I'm missing something.

I agree that it wasn't Nash's fault for the bad fortunes of the WWF in 1995. What's he going to say, "Gee Vince, you should take the belt off me."

And Nash did draw MAJOR money in WCW in 1996, so that can't be argued. After that, however....

Well, Diesel was 10 years younger than Nash is. I can certainly see where he's coming from from that respect...

2 things>

1) Nash was almost all but given the book in 1995, taking complete control of storylines and booking decisions.

2) The nWo concept and ideal drew money, not Kevin Nash...you could've stuck Shawn or Bret or Undertaker in there and it would've had the same effect.

Well, Diesel DID have a lot of control in the WWF in 1995. He and the rest of the Clique were pretty much in charge. ALSO, it was when he was champion that the WWF went into near bankruptcy, and once they got the title off of him, they made a slight bounce-back. So yeah, he might not be totally to blame. But I say a lot of the blame should go to him.

And Kevin Nash didn't draw WCW any money in 1996. The nWo angle did. Nash just happened to be one of the three guys. It could have just as easily had been Hogan, Hall, and Michaels, or any other third guy. Nash was just in the right place at the right time. After 1996, it was the Hogan/Sting feud that kept business booming. But it was in late 1998 and all of 1999 where WCW nose-dived. Which is, coincidentally, the same time that Kevin Nash got to be head-booker of the company.

Was Bret Hart really over with the American fans? I never really thought so. For a character with the emotional range of an icicle. I never really could get into him...

Add Santino to that list as well. (It may be the only time you see him on a list with those two.) Dynamite Kid should go on there too. When Mick Foley says a move is stupid, you have to be a fucking moron to continue doing it.
