I read lots of mixed reviews on last night's show, and I understand what they're saying. But I enjoyed it last night for sure. Why? Because I remembered what happened this time last year. Let's revisit RAW one year ago this week, shall we? Courtesy of CRZ... Click Here (slashwrestling.com)
I'm sorry if that opened up some old wounds, but it's pretty safe to say that we should be thankful that THIS road to Wrestlemania is much smoother, racists or not. By the way, you're welcome.
Not to hijack the thread or nothing, but as bad as dog angle was, 4 years ago was the Nitro with no wrestling for the first 70 some minutes. That one always bugged me quite a bit - while the fingerpoke showed they were losing it, this show - no shots in the arena for the first hour not for any reason but to prove a point [about how totally for granted they were taking things] and the start of the non-sensical Flair/Hogan double turn - gave proof that they were heading downhill at a tremendous rate of speed.
Thanks for that bit of info. I was watching RAW at that time, so I totally missed that (thank God...). By the way, it's not hijacking if you got something to top what I got.
I still have that Nitro on tape, mostly just for the Flair vs. Goldberg match. I'd say that was no where near as bad as the NWO Mass beatdown of Ric Flair in a corn field. For the oddest reason I still have that Nitro on tape, as well.
I always liked reading CRZ's Nitro recaps especially the the one where Scott Steiner interupted the Mike Modest vs. Chris Daniels match. CRZ just went crazy after that and went into full "FUCK WCW" mode.
And I don't think the dog angle is as bad as not having any in-ring action for the first 70 minutes.
I was just thinking about that episode of Nitro where there were no matches the first hour, the other day.
During the early part of 1999, there were lots of weird things on Nitro; Raven and Kanyon ("What a mark,") Konnan's rap video (and Disco's hilarious inclusion in it), Scott Hall in the nut house, and that hour-long beating of Flair in the field.

I've always considered that night where they dedicated the first hour to the Nash/Hogan lovefest as the night WCW decided to flush any chance of redemption down the toilet. It was also the last 3 hour Nitro.
I'll pay $49.95 for the Execute Bin Laden PPV. And I'll buy one of the lottery tickets at 10 bucks a pop to be the executioner.

Damn, who wrote that? I had no idea he had that kind of commentary in him. Too bad he doesn't ever share his gift anymore. He must have gotten REALLY lazy. I hope he doesn't think he can live off his reputation forever!

I thought that's why you opened up the board? So you could prop your reputation up on people like us?
Satire 03/10/03 (wienerboard.com) <- No kidding, right? Buffy 7.16 gets a 7.65372 Andrew is funny, but I'm not sure that we needed "The Andrew Episode".
Wow - that WAS bad. I really do appreciate the current stuff better now.
Oh, and CRZ, talking about yourself in the third person makes me start worrying about your sense of self. You might need to look in the mirror more often (or carry a picture ID in case you can't remember). Or you could refer to yourself as "The CRZ" and use your catchphrase "(blank) is walking!" and we could all sing-along. Hmmm.

Do you know where your Chainmail, +1 vs. Cruiserweights is?
When Raw is bad, it's pretty bad; when Natro was bad... yeesh. I'm almost sorry I missed that episode cause I used to down 2 beers every time there was no in ring action between breaks. That Nitro would have had me bombed before the first hour was done.

FAR OUT VAN HAMMER v. BRET CLARKE - "Hi, I'm Bret Hart. I was the biggest name in the sport. I left one federation in one of the most controversial finishes in the history of pay-per-view telecasts, and signed with another in what was considered one of the biggest coups in this highly competitive field. Tonight I'm fighting DDP's friend in the last half hour of Nitro. Maybe I'll get a couple free chairshots afterwards. Castrol GTX will provide the replays. I hate my life." (Sharpshooter 10:45)
One of the best match recaps ever!

I just realized the biggest reason of why I have enjoyed wwe lately. As long as SCSA is gone we never have to hear WHAT again. That was grating on my nerves more than anything I can ever remember.
