So on RAW, Stone Cold Steve Austin is backstage hanging with Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner? Am I the only one who remembers the threats Steiner made to Austin and ROck whenever he went into a WCW ring. Saying he would kick their asses if they were face to face. Next thing you know Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone will be seen backstage sharing a six-pack.

I don't remember threats to Austin and Rock, but I do remember Steiner bringing up Austin's name in a promo on Nitro. It was during the Bischoff/Russo era Nitros, and Steiner was saying that the reason WCW was losing to the WWF was because the WWF had guys like Austin while WCW showcased "dinosaurs" like Flair. So he was actually giving Austin props in a way.

But I wasn't the most consistent Nitro viewer, so I could have missed some threats somewhere along the way. But with the way stuff is forgotten over the past couple weeks in wrestling it isn't a big deal that we are supposed to forget stuff that happened two to three years agon on a program that hardly anyone watched anymore.

i thought that was in his interview on wrestleline, not in an actual promo. that is, incidentally, my favorite wrestler interview of all time.

Speaking of Steiner...what are they going to with him now? How does he get used at WM? Unless they turn him heel I don't think there is a single possible matchup for him. Steiner vs. Rodney Mack? That doesn't exactly set my sould on fire...

I guess that was money well spent...

I was pretty sure that it was an on-air promo. And didn't he suspended for that one for bringing up Stone Cold on the air? I guess it's time to hit the archives. I don't even know where to start looking, though. Sometime in spring of 2000, I guess.

As for what to do with Steiner now- I wouldn't mind seeing him go heel and fued with Austin. The matches might be crap, but I think it would make for some interesting TV. Face Austin vs. Crazy Heel Steiner could be fun.

He bashed WCW and Ric Flair in a long, borderline rambling, in-ring promo, back when the NWO consisted of Steiner, Jarret, Scott Hall, and an injured Nash (I think Bret Hart was a part of the group, too). Anyway, he said that no one was watching WCW anymore because they were all switching to Raw to watch Stone Cold, who he described as a guy who was let go due to the massive egos of the old timers in WCW.

Apparently, Steiner didn't know too much about what was going on on Raw, since Austin was out with his neck injury at the time, and he said all this stuff the week after the Radicals debuted on Raw (late January/early February), but he didn't mention them at all.

Of course, this all falls under the IIRC banner. You may want to go check for yourselves.

It's my favorite promo ever- February 2, 2000. He bashes Flair's sagging skin, then goes into "So when you walked down that aisle last week, I know I wasn't alone, 'cause the people at home, all they did was grab their remote, and change their channel to the WWF, and watch Stone Cold - a person you and your own friends got fired from here - 'cause you're a jealous old bastard. So Ric Flair, remember this: in this wrestling business, there's never been a bigger asskissing, butt[??] bastard in this business but also in life, you're the biggest asskissing - back - backstabbing, butt[??] bastard, and you belong where you're at in WCW, 'cause WCW SUCKS and so do you. Me, I'm just gonna stand right here in the NWO - 4 life."

I tried my best to read CRZ's tutorials on linkification, but I'm an idiot, so the best I can do is cut and paste.

The main problem with some of the guys in the organization is that there's no psychology. But that doesn't take away from the fact that I'm glad these guys are employed. I'm a wrestling fan, but I don't catch Indy shows.
