well, he wasn't adsactly "hanged" but that's what it seemed like they were TRYING to portray. You gotta love the writers. All this racist innuendo is so lame...
Flair: "Tonight, it's gonna be Austin, Bradshaw, taking on the NWO!
(Next Monday...)
Flair: I'm not trying to screw you Austin. Tonight, to show that I'm legit, I'll referre your match tonight when you and bradshaw take on the n..w..o!
(Next monday...)
Flair: You thought that was funny Austin? No one screws with the nature boy! tonight, it's gonna be you and bradshaw taking on X-pac and Big Show!
(Next Monday...)
Flair:That's it, you have pissed of the nature boy WHOOO for the very last time Austin!! Tonight I throwing your ass in a special tag match against the NWO. And your partner is gonna be.........Bradshaw!
When they threw Maven into those ropes and he got his neck hung in there I did find myself thinking "geez, they don't want anyone to miss the racial angle do they?"
I wasn't thinking that either -- I was thinking "Why the hell would anyone do a risky move like that for no reason?"
"next to of course god america i love you land of the pilgrims' and so forth oh say can you see by the dawn's early my country tis of centuries come and go and are no more what of it we should worry in every language even deafanddumb thy sons acclaim your glorious name by gorry by jingo by gee by gosh by gum why talk of beauty what could be more beaut- iful than these heroic happy dead who rushed like lions to the roaring slaughter they did not stop to think they died instead then shall the voice of liberty be mute?"
Well Mr. Burns had done it. The power plant had won it. With Rogers Clemens clucking all the while. Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile. While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile. We're talkin'... Softball. From Maine to San Diego. Talkin'... Softball. Mattingly and Canseco. Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw. Steve Sax and his run-in with the law. We're talkin' Homer... Ozzie and the Straw.
I still think that Flair will turn on HHH at WrestleMania.

Well, I definitely noticed the apparent symbolism. Come on, there's just too many "coincidences" for this not to be an attempt at creating racial overtones in the HHH-Booker T situation.
- People like YOU aren't as good as people like ME.
- Dance for me.
- Nappy Hair
- Won't stoop to Booker's level.
- Carry my bags and be my chauffeur. That's what you're qualified for.
- Throwing money at Booker and telling Booker to give him a towel, like Booker is his servant.
- HHH just happens to confront one of the few black wrestlers in the back.
- all the talk of "putting Maven in his place".
- all followed by "hanging" Maven after the match.
Come on, those aren't all just coincidences.
I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
I noticed it, too... and the way they're semi-portraying Triple H as a racist, he'd damn well better lose at WrestleMania.

I was too into the match to notice the symbolism. I was peeved that Maven didn't get many moves in (compared to Hurricane-Rock, later); then I was worried for him, when he did the hangman; then I was peeved that Snow managed to job after one clothesline.
And Snow is of eastern European descent, I believe.
You know...I honestly feel that Maven, being half the wrestler that Hurricane is, couldn't have an even-keel, underdog, come from behind and almost take it type match. He just isn't good enough. Was the match crappy? Yeah. Was Rock's better? Yeah. But look who they were working with...Rock was working with caviar and H was working with catfish.
Maven is soooo new at this, still, that it would have severely discredited Byron De La Beckwith...Or, Triple H, to almost lose to him.
Oh and uh...about the lynching...I missed getting that out of it, but now that i think about it...Triple H shot MLK.

I don't believe this was Triple HGH attempting to send a racist message as much as I believe it was meant to completely bury the Tough Enough concept once and for all. After all, nobody hates Tough Enough more than Triple H (except maybe 411's Flea), so what better way to prove what a waste of time it is than by utterly squashing the Tough Enough champion and easily disposing of his trainer? I mean, even JR and King were starting to question what they were even doing in the same ring as Triple H!
I didn't see the whole interaction with Maven as a way to get over the race card. I just saw the whole damn thing as a way to bury Maven, Al Snow, and Tough Enough.
Forget Brock! TRINITY is the Next Big Thing! Congrats to both Kid Kash and TRINITY~! on signing long-term deals with TNA!

I don't believe it's as much HHH trying to send a racist message as it is the writers writing the story to create the racial overtones. If you take the little issues and isolate them, it isn't very noticeable. But, if you look at them as a whole, it just looks like a concerted effort to make it a racial issue, IMHO.

My thought was, "How in the heck did Maven do that to himself?" Wasn't it just an irish whip to the outside? And also, who was that other guy backstage?
