I was just watching a tape from a few months ago that included the end of Tough Enough 3, and a weird thought came to me. Imagine if they added that final viewer vote just for an angle?
Let's just say it was so hard for the trainers to vote off ANY of the five, that they added the vote as an angle. This way, they can pick their two winners, and the one who got "voted off" has a pre-made heel angle whenever WWE wants to bring them in. How much you wanna bet Jamie would use the "you people tried to end my dream" line if she came in? And if she didn't, how dumb would it be? I still believe that Tough Enough has dropped the ball thus far by not portaying their winners as cocky heels instead of "wow, I'm here, this is great =) =) =)" babyfaces. This is why Nowinski is (seemingly) the best to come out of the bunch so far. Nidia isn't doing too bad either on the Smackdown side.
I'd personally like to see Jamie come in and rip the fans a new asshole. But then again, I'm an idiot.
Realistically though, the only winners that have a real track record in the WWF/E are Maven and Nidia. And with Nidia, the announcers don't seem to mention every 10 seconds that she was on Tough Enough, so her reaction is more due to character than due to Tough Enough. With Nowinski and Maven, it seems like the words Tough Enough are part of their names. With #2, they were trying to portray Jackie Gayda as a heel, but then she got into the ring. And Linda Miles' personality seemed to be: I'm tall and muscular. At least 1 of these 2 I doubt we'll see called up anytime in the next year.
I'll pay $49.95 for the Execute Bin Laden PPV. And I'll buy one of the lottery tickets at 10 bucks a pop to be the executioner.
Matt Morgan (The 6'10" hoss from TE2) is getting great reviews currently, and is said to be ahead of the progress Lesnar was at the same point. I'd guess he gets called up before 2k3.
I have a special friend. He's the baby Jesus and I love him and...and...he don't give me no s**t and he don't f**k around and he's just the f**king coolest guy and I wanna say I love the baby Jesus.I can't say enough.I love the baby Jesus and I think...he's the best thing and he's really great when he shares his love for everbody. You know what I mean?I can't even see a manger without thinkin' about him,eh?I just love the Jesus.I've only been into him for a couple of hours though, but I'm really into him. --Bruce McCulloch
I am with Furry on the Jaime thing. I just enjoyed watching her, and would love to see her as an unhinged heel who just hates everyone for voting her off just before she could reach her dream. Especially if she played it with some of the character she did in the improv thing where she was "the vixen" since she could assume it's all just women jealous they're not as pretty as her and men jealous she won't be with them.
Seriously, though. I agree something was up with the cut. All of the TE families were sitting at tables in the restaurant, but seconds after Jaime gets cut, her parents are in the back ready to console her. They, at least, knew she was going to be cut.
With Heat moving to TNN after WM, I'd have to think Tough Enough would be over. I enjoyed the show, but I think they're better off leaving it alone. They have anough talented guys from the first three shows to farm from when they need to.
With that said, I'd like to see something along the lines of Real World/Road Rules Challenge that included Tough Enough losers. Darryl v. Puck? The Miz v. Chooch? Come on now.
a) Jamie got a majority of the vote - she just didn't get most, she got about 60%. I don't think they'd fix it that much against her unless they went all the way and made it comically bad, like 99.99% for Jamie and Jill voting for Jonah.
b) All the parents were waiting backstage in that room when Al was doing the cuts - they probably got ushered back there during the commerical breaks. It wasn't exactly clear but I think the rest of 'em just stayed off camera when we saw Jamie with her parents after her cut.
If it was pre-fab angle, they probably would have had Jamie push it in her post-cut interview. If/when she ever shows up in the WWE, they'll turn it into an angle just like they did with Chris, but Jamie reportedly went back to college and her name hasn't been popping up on indy reports so I wouldn't count on seeing her soon if ever.
