Is anybody else interested in what happens with this fight on Saturday. This is so much more interesting to me than seeing Tyson fight a tomato can.

I just wonder if Jones can do it. Ruiz will outweigh him by at least 40 or so pounds and as good a fighter as Jones is, he better be able to duck and run effectively to stay out of the way

After all the stunts Roy Jones has pulled on fight nights the last few years, am I the only one who would love to see him take a beating?
Is Ruiz a great fighter? No. But he was able to go 36 rounds with Holyfield, so I doubt Jones will have the power to knock him out.
Prediction: Ruiz in 4, as Jones can't take the heavyweight punch, and the lack of credible opponents the last few years catches up with him.

I'm seeing this go a while, as Ruiz is going to have to slowly wear down Jones to catch him. But I do see Jones going down. Ruiz in 9.

I think Roy is going to win by decision. I think his power at 190-195 lbs. will surprise, and I don't think there is anyway Ruiz will be able to lay a big-time shot on Roy. Remember, Roy has taken all these fights for the last 5-6 years knowing he was the superior fighter and that he would win easily. He knows in this fight is a big risk and I think he will train and, more importantly, fight more seriously. As long as Roy stays off the ropes and doesn't try to prove a point that he can take the shot I think he'll be fine.

Roy Jones is making a big mistake by stepping into the ring with a true heavyweight. If Jones wins, and that is a very big if, what next? He will be forced to defend his belt or vacate the title. Defending the belt would be an even bigger mistake than his venture into the music buisness. Vaacating it will have proved nothing because he would have defeated a second tier fighter and more importantly, a paper champion. As for my prediction, Ruiz in 8. Roy Jones will fight the same way he always does, with is back to the ropes, attempting to mimick the great Muhammed Ali's rope-a-dope, and take more punishment to the body a 195 pound light heavyweight has ever been accustomed to. He will then drop his guard, leaving him open to the knockout. Ruiz will retain his belt and Roy Jones will go on ruling the light heavyweight world and attempting to be a rapper.

Personally, I think Jones needs this fight. He outclasses the opponent's in his own weight division so much that he NEEDS to move up. Yeah, I have no idea if he can take a heavyweight punch, but that is one of the great things about this fight- we will find out.

As cocky as Jones is, I have to respect him for this. How many other fighters would do something like this? Jones is stepping up to the plate and taking on a real threat in the ring. I like it...

I do hope Jones wins the fight. If only to spice up the heavyweight division. Considering it's been the same cast of characters for years now, and Vitali Klitschko isn't going to fight Lewis anytime soon, the heavyweight division eeds something to make it interesting again(and another Tyson-Lewis fight is not it...)

I think if Jones wins it and goes on to fight Chris Byrd it is going to make even more of a hwavyweight-super heavyweight-like split in the division. Roy's weighing 193 and Byrd's around 215, and all of those other guys are HUGE. Roy's always said he'd never fight Lewis because he was too big, and no one wants to fight Byrd because he's too small (relatively).

I would be interested to see Roy fight Evander, though, only because Evander might be able to bring back the magic one more time and if it was against Roy that would be an awesome fight.

Gladly, I didn't pay the 55 bucks, especially when it's gonna replay anyway. I can't comment on the fight til I see it. But I would just like to add that IF RJ decides to stick around at hvywt and fight Holyfield, that would be the biggest money-making fight so far.....and Holyfield would win. Jones is not Chris Byrd and can't absorb those punches for 12 rds.

By the looks of the fight clips, Ruiz-- as expected--could not catch Jones. Holyfield has the heart and stamina to keep the pressure on. Plus he is obsessed with being undisputed champ again, it won't happen, but that's ok. At 1st, he turned Roy down citing that he had nothing to gain. Now that Roy has a heavyweight title, I'm sure he'll come out to play now.
