Remember the WWF superbowl commercial (the get it? one) and how funny and entertaining that commercial was. I was thinking the other day that I kind of miss their advertising. I mean sure we see the occasional PPV ad, but they for the most part aren't entertaining. Here are a couple of my suggestions for new ads they could use.

1) Tommy Dreamer: Office hardcore icon- this is obviously a play on the very funny reebok commercial, and can be the same thing but instead of a tackling linebacker, you can have Tommy caning people. If you want to keep the hitting like the reebok ad, sub in Rhyno and have him gore people wth Paul Heyman shouting gore, gore, gore in the background after every hit (have Paul kind of show up out of nowhere to do it)

2) ESPN style commercials-have casual things around the office, maybe a light breaks so they have glow in the dark Jeff Hardy stand over someones desk, or have Kane light candles in the office by doing the whole ring post lighting thing he does pre or post match. There are a ton of different things they can do in this regard.

3) Have them show wrestlers expanding into different areas (examples, the Booker T break dancing school, Lance Storm: motivational speaker, William Regal writng some sort of Miss Manners column)

OK now Im rambling, but what would some of your idea be?

Thank you Lord....for giving me the strength....to beat the crap out of that man and damn near kill him with my bare hands!

I like it, it might have legs. But the only time they could show it would be during RAW or Smackdown. I am not sure other sporting events (the big 4) or the major networks want to show ad for wrestling. I don't remember seeing any but I may be wrong.

I think if they were going to run ads for the WWE, the best thing to do would be to stay away from the cartoon character-type personnas that they have. People would just write off Kane using Magical Ring Lighting Powers as the same 80's bullshit they saw when they were 15.

Plus, if they stay too gimmick specific (with the stuff like Heyman yelling "Gore, Gore, Gore") no one would know what the hell they were talking about.

I always thought that a "This is SportsCenter" spot with WWe guys would be a riot. Of course, this was before the commercials started to suck in general.

Speaking of which, what ever happened with the SC commercial that they were filming with Austin? Did it ever air?

I think some "SportsCenter"-like commercials would be pretty cool.

Why wouldn't they? An ad spot sold is an ad spot sold. Remember Viacom/CBS/TNN would have good reason to promote their own product...

The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

Maybe it's just in my area, but I've been seeing some really good commercials that play up the intensity and desire needed to be at WrestleMania. They show Jericho, Tripps, Brock, Angle and Edge getting ready for the match or going through the curtain. Really good stuff, if you ask me.

Now the question becomes: why can't they do crap like this all the time?

Reading the HART AND SOUL thread got me to thinking. All the messed up shit that the Hart family has been through, Bret's problems, Owen, the other brothers backstabbing and basically ruining any chance for any of them to make a living in the business.
