Living overseas for the time being, I have (thankfully) been missing a lot of the rhetoric concerning the upcoming war with Iraq. I still read quite a bit about it, but I don't hear soundclips of administration officials or anti-war demonstrators every night. So, I don't know if Saddam has been compared to Hitler, and using that as a justification for entering into war, but I do believe it possible. I remember Milosevic being compared to Hitler quite often, so it only makes sense to do it again. Anyway, here is an article from the Guardian in which several historians examine the claim that Saddam = Hitler lite.
Actually, the real comparison should be Saddam to Stalin. The Baath party was organized under Stalinist principles, and Saddam has used many of the tactics FDR's old friend Uncle Joe used.
Ole Anderson booking is a weapon of self inflicted mass destruction.
And there you have a good point. I'm a middle class whiteboy from the 'burbs. I wouldn't know a thing about living in a violent area, though it keeps creeping closer.... Anyway, I think I can take a crack at these... #1 - Americans have too many guns....
