His name listed with all the other speakers over on the far left cracks me up too. (Of course, he's listed with Ann Coulter, Dan Quayle, Pat Buchannan and Ted Nugent, so maybe it's more appropriate than you think.)

This is what sickens me about Dingbat: Andre allowed himself to be jobbed out to him all over the country in squash matches to make him look credible, and all he does is insult Andre now. If now for Andre doing the right thing, Dingbat would probably have been wrestling Hercules Hernandez at county fairs for the last 15 years.

Why would you say that? Didn't the Warrior-Andre tour happen *after* Summerslam 89? The point might be debatable, but I'd say that Warrior's feud with Rick Rude and Bobby Heenan btw WM V and Summerslam is what cemented him as a top player.
"I do not miss wrestling because I knew that I could do something beyond it. When I last saw Hulk Hogan it saddened me because here was a man in his 50s that never evolved past the old wrap, 'Say your prayers, take your vitamins.' How about go out and talk about capitalism or the benefits of tax cuts," the Warrior said"

Oh well, it could be worse. It could be Streisand on our side ;)

When Babs starts running around in face paint and tassels, and talking about the power of the WARRIORS, then I'll take that point. But I think I would rather go to brunch with Babs and Rosie O'Donnell than to hang out with WARRIOR.
Wow. I didn't read through all of his stuff yet (don't know if I'll even get around to doing that), but I couldn't get over how old the former Mr. Hellwig looked. Maybe I am just used to seeing him with the face paint on, but he looks so different than even his WCW run in '98. He even looks older than Hogan to me! Anyone know how old Warrior is? I guess I'm just getting weirded out by seeing all these wrestlers I watched when I was a kid, and haven't seen in a while (ie; Bret Hart on OTR), and seeing how they've aged. Makes me feel old.

Whew. I feel better now. I like most of the rest of the people on that list. It's interesting that Warrior has gone all political, though - isn't it? I thought he'd alsways be doing the zen-like philosophy thing.
It seems to me you all have locked Warrior into the neandrathal-like character he played in wrestling. If you actually read the speech, it is quite literate (although way too long). He certainly put a great deal of thought into the speech and to what his philosophy on life is. I don't agree with all of it, but it is well constructed and lets you know where he stands.
As to looking old, the guy is 43 and looks like a forty-something to me (I'm 42). Life on the wrestling road will age you a lot quicker than a normal life. Bret Hart looks older than his years because of this life and because he had a major stroke which took a good 5-10 years off of his life span.
Sounds like a good tag match: in the left corner Barbara and Rosie, in the right Nugent and Warrior. At least the right side has a sense of humor about themselves.

You're kidding right? Have you read any of this guys Warrior Wisdom. If not make thy way to www.ultimatewarrior.com and read the guys columns in the Warrior writer section. Every one a train wreck.
Honestly your head starts to hurt after about three paragraphs. Still love the "thinking is hard, yes" quote in one of the more recent ones.
The very thing that worries me most is that he clearly puts so much though into his work. And this is the best he can come up with. Seriously, he talks in one column about having to go get his dictionary and look up big words he doesn't know.
