I know that Greenland is a territory of Denmark, but if someone could definitively tell me what continent it is, I would appreciate it. Half of the people I ask tell me Europe, the others North America. Meanwhile, my inquisitive son keeps asking, every day.

Thanks...

According to my RISK board (which is authoritative, by God), Greenland is part of North America. Iceland is part of Europe (continent-wise).

Parts is right. Greenland is a part of the North American Continent. At least, that's what my brain and www.ask.com tell me.

Because it rests on the North American plate, Greenland is geographically considered part of North America. Greenland's foreign affairs are handled by Denmark, which would account for people considering it part of Europe, but it's part of North America in the sense that continents usually meant.
