Oh yeahhhhhh! I'm all about this. The WWE would be crazy (insert your smarky joke here) not to do this match for WM. Booker is the most over guy on the Raw roster. Much more so that Mesh Head Mush Mouth. Give me B-Teazy any day!
Again, what if HHH holding the belt so damn long is buildup unto itself? Not only that, but there aren't any real viable heels to hold the strap on Monday Nights anyway. Let's do the rundown.
Jericho: Let him cook a while, and eventually he'll get another run. Not yet though. Let him beat the man that beats HHH.
Bautista: Wouldn't draw flies.
Orton: Too new.
Nowinski: Interesting idea... No.
Stevie Richards: Again, interesting idea, but No.
Flair: Suspension of Disbelief???
Now, Booker T/HHH at Mania can and will work. So long as Book goes over... Let's look at the other babyfaces.
Booker T: Lost Partner, headed in right direction. If the WWE want's to do something fresh, why not make the WCW star into a WWE star?
Kane: Mask gimmick? Mankind was the exception to the rule, and that's only because everybody knew what Mick Foley looked like.
RVD: Hey look, the potheads our figurehead too!
Dreamer: Interesting idea. Too much Hardcore influence.
Shawn Micheals: Already lost his smile.
Kevin Nash: Seeing as how he's never drawn before, he'll most likely get the belt.
In the name of good taste, I will no longer say anything about people who run wrestling websites and cats.
Originally posted by fuelinjectedRegardless of HHH's politics, it's not a given that a face is going over in either title matches like in year's past. Why? Because Stone Cold Super Face will be going over Rock in the Main Event to send the crowd home happy anyways.
I don't think Austin/Rock (IF that's even happening) has anything to do with the outcome of the title matches. It was the very same Triple H that sent the fans home VERY unhappy at WrestleMania 16 (throwing trash at the ring on their way out, way to go WWF), by winning the main event. So trust me, he doesn't care about what the fans want. Rock could even kill Super Mega Face Austin and Triple H would still think it's a good idea for Booker T. to lay down for him.
Look, I usually defend the H on this board, but there's a little something going on with HHH in the WrestleMania title matches. In 2000 he pissed everybody off (not in a good way, in a "no payoff" kind of way), and in 2002 buried his opponent before the match began (Here, doggie, doggie).
But anyway, enough of that hate crap - I still believe Booker will win if they fight at Mania. Why? As much as HHH is gonna try to use influence, he's really had his time. He's a cripple, he's played out, and they're gonna start seeing this.
If HHH survives Mania with the title, I will join the official HHHaters Club. This is his last chance to do the right thing for the company (what a concept).

I'm getting a huge "Owen Hart, 1997-98" vibe from Booker.
Face, Smark favorite, right on the "could be main event" ledge, up against a stable with HHH, looks like he might get the big shot at the champ, ends up fighting lesser stable members instead, fades out of the main-event picture pretty quickly.
It seems that I am - in no particular order - Zack Morris, John Adams, a Siren, Janeane Garofalo, Cheer Bear, Aphrodite, a Chihuahua, Data, Cletus the Slack Jawed Yokel, Amy-Wynn Pastor, Hydrogen, Bjork, Spider-Man, Boston, and a Chaotic Good Elvin Bard-Mage.

Haha well hold on a second - me and the Mistress will join you guys, but we still hope that good ol' Triple H will prove you guys wrong and do the right thing at Mania - he's got to drop that damn title!
He's had is for basically 6 months by the time Mania comes around. Think about it. When else would he lose it that it makes sense? Backlash? He's done that before, but I doubt they're gonna make that mistake again. I, for one, would be surprised if he doesn't lose to whoever at Mania. VERY surprised.
This angle is already starting out a little fishy to me. Booker is out for revenge for Evolution ELECTROCUTING his friend and giving him Tourette's. Why can't Booker just want his damn gold back? Is it so hard?
Seriously, I hope he goes over at Mania but I'm really not holding my breath on this one. Nash is gonna be the one to take the title off HHH, we all know it, we're just scared to think about it. :)

This match will probably get shoved for Goldberg/HHH which I'd hate to see Booker get screwed again but I'd watch to see the two trying not to snap and kill each other. These guys couldn't get along at a fucking Toyfair, Vince thinks they'll play nice in a ring?

I don't see why everyone is so up on HHH-Booker T. Booker T has become popular, but he lacks any sort of momentum at the moment. They need to have him win KOTR, win the Rumble, or SOMETHING to show people that he's climbing the ladder, because right now there isn't the perception that he's on the level of Austin/HHH/etc. That's now how the title match at WrestleMania should be.
If they do HHH-Booker at WM this year, they'll be rushing Booker T and he'll lose his spot within a matter of months. It's not worth it right now. Whether he wins or loses, it's not going to make him a star.
Booker T isn't exactly young, either. Granted, that's no reason not to push him if he can still draw, but keep in mind that he is the same age as Steve Austin (37). So, Booker doesn't have any advantage over Austin here.
WWE needs to create new stars, but that doesn't mean they should put all of their efforts into it at the expense of the present. That never works, because you need the current stars to have the most heat possible to put over Booker T and right now HHH has none. HHH needs to lose to Austin so RAW can, first, have a champ that's over and at the top of his game. THEN, we can think about building young stars. Right now, it won't work.
The current stars need to be promoted every bit as much as the new guys, because they're the ones that need to have heat to rub off onto the newer ones.
If Goldberg doesn't sign, we get yet another Austin vs Rock main event when those two guys could be off doing better things. I really hope they sign him.
Goldberg has never really intersted me at all, I think he'll be tremendously overpaid, and he won't be worth anything after WM, but if they don't sign him I can't see the PPV as being anything worth ordering.
If Austin & Rock are wrestling each other in their own seperate world at WM without anything of significance on the line, they're really doing nothing at all. Austin needs to be in the World title match to make his return relevant.
There's other, more storyline-related, reasons for why Austin-HHH is a better option than Booker-HHH, and I think those are obvious. If the Booker T match happens, it won't have lasting impact, nor will it resolve anything. That's not WrestleMania.
Originally posted by fuelinjectedThis angle is already starting out a little fishy to me. Booker is out for revenge for Evolution ELECTROCUTING his friend and giving him Tourette's.
This is happening a lot on the Wienerboard lately....internet rumor being assumed straight into storyline. Just in the past few days I've heard all about this "Tourette's" angle with Goldust and predictions on the Booker vs. Batista match for NWO.
These two things might really be fact, but the thing is - where has it been confirmed? People are not only believing rumors these days, but speaking of them as if they are a known fact already. Goldust is "acting weird". Where has anybody credible said he's gonna have Tourrette's when he comes back?
Until WWE tells me Booker vs. Batista is on for NWO, and until I see Goldust with Tourette's, I'm gonna treat it as rumor.
I don't mean to get on you for saying that comment, cause it's innocent, but I have just found it weird that rumor is being written into people's posts as if it's happened already.
Granted, I haven't watched SmackDown in some time so I'm not 100% sure what's going on with The Rock.
But why is everybody assuming, despite the fact that they're on different shows, that Austin and The Rock are going to have a match at WrestleMania? What, are they going to cut promos “live via satellite” against each other for a month? Nothing kills tension like a guy in the ring talking back and forth with a guy on the Titantron. And surely they won't have one or both of them appearing on both shows, since that was already done during the HHH/Taker feud last year.
I find it more likely that if they don't have Booker T/HHH at WrestleMania, they'll have Austin/HHH. As much as I currently dislike the man (which could change in an instant if he starts doing things right), the fact is that people will buy an event in which Austin has his first shot at the World Heavyweight Title since last year's No Way Out. He'll have already come off a program with the general manager of RAW, Eric Bischoff. After beating the shit out of the boss, what more logical place to go than into a World Title feud with a guy he's very familiar with? And name a better event for Austin to win the World Title in other than WrestleMania.
I, for one, wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if this is what turns out happening. Although I hope for Booker T/HHH like a lot of you do, I couldn't help but notice that his name was completely left off the face/heel list compiled earlier.
