LOL, I just had to use that title for the thread. Anyway, it looks like Booker T will finally make his main event run towards the World Title at Wrestlemania (thanks to Goldbitch, uh, Goldberg). I personally prefer to see Booker vs. Hunter at Mania anyway. It would only be even better if Booker T finally gets his title back. Opinions on how the match will turn out? I'll save mine until said match is set in stone.

I still think they hold off on the Booker title push until around KOTR. The fear of a Kevin Nash return is always present until they announce the match as official.

I guess it comes down to whether or not they want to make Booker a star or just strong enough to be fodder for HHH at Mania and then go back to being a midcarder.
I think HHH's deteriorating health will require a title switch at Mania. They can't be in the situation like the last few months with their champion being a part-time wrestler. (especially if the rumored "hard split" takes place this spring)
It is nice to see Booker moving up the ladder. If they play their cards right and give him a decent push along with the title, Booker can be a successful champion.
The "hard split" he's referring to is the believed plan that WWE is going to split their PPVs - have 4 Raw shows a year, 4 Smackdown shows, and have the "big four" of Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series features matches from both.
I have mixed feelings about this going down. On one hand, it will be nice to see storylines go back to having more time to build up before we get the PPV match. At the same time, the thoughts of an all-Raw PPV don't exactly inspire me. Guys like Spike Dudley, Steven Richards, Tommy Dreamer, etc. do not belong anywhere near pay per view with the combined roster the company has right now, and neither do most of the "angles" Raw throws together from week to week. It would be nice to think that with a whole PPV to build the Raw team might be motivated to put some meaning into the undercard, but I really don't have that kind of faith in those writers.

Some months, I can't see 4 storylines that provide matches for PPV's from each show, let alone trusting each show to come with enough to cover the 8 matches that generally occur.

I'm pretty sure a Booker T title win at WM has been on the cards for a while, so thats not the real issue. I'm more concerned about his opponent. in all honesty i'd prefer the title match at Mania to be SteinerVBooker simply because BPP is about as good or better then triple H in the ring but he's a fresher face IMO (i never saw him wrestle before in WCW) also it brings in the title history they had in WCW which i was always interested to hear about on the net, so i'd like to see it played out at WM.
mind you it looks like Bookers fued is being directed at the evolution so it'll probably be HHH V Booker at WM
That brings up the quastion of how does HHH go over steiner without losing all his heat OR how does HHH keep his title (DQ/Count out) and get steiner out of the title picture.
So i'm gonna go out on a limb and be the first to say that HHH gets DQ'd again, Steiner keeps chasing, booker joins in and we have a Triple Threat Match for the title. Booker goes over HHH at WM and then SteinerVBooker is a ready made fued for post Mania where they can bring in their history together
...But remember this. ROCK...CRUSHES...SCISSORS...but scissors cuts paper...and paper wraps rock...KIFF, we have a conundrum. (Yes, eat all of our shirts!)
There you go thinking again. (HA!... ha... well.) We are not supposed to see it as one large roster, they want us to think of the two shows as seperate entities. While they are not doing this as well as they should, they are trying, like when you see commercials for RAW on Smackdown, they throw up the 'Paid for by RAW' tagline, and you hardly hear the commentaters mention the other show very much anymore.
Again, they ARE trying, but no where near hard enough.

For the love of God, please don't let Steiner stay in the main event picture. If they want to job him on the way out to build guys up, fine. But, nothing good can come of a continued Scott Steiner push. Besides, he's overdue for an injury anyway.

I won't believe that Triple H will put somebody over until it actually happens. Until Booker T is holding that belt up in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania, I will have my doubts.
Regardless of HHH's politics, it's not a given that a face is going over in either title matches like in year's past. Why? Because Stone Cold Super Face will be going over Rock in the Main Event to send the crowd home happy anyways.
I'm just trying to figure out what's more likely, HHH putting over Booker T or Shawn Michaels putting over Chris Jericho.
WWE's never shown any faith in Booker to be more then a midcard player. I mean, if Booker going over at Mania was in the cards, wouldn't Booker have beaten somebody/anybody in the past six months?

Michaels putting over Jericho.
Geez, when you're below both Hulk Hogan AND Shawn Michaels on the "company man" ladder, that's not a good thing...
Being that the WWE seems to be allergic to babyface champions, the possibility of 2 face champions at the same time seems unlikely. It's probably more likely that Booker will win at Backlash or Judgment Day. I don't doubt that the belt is coming off HHH soon, I just wonder to whom he will lose it to and for how long HHH will be out of the title picture

Most likely the belt will come off HHH when either a) Nash is in good enough shape to hobble into the ring or b) HHH's injuries finally force him to forfeit the belt(aww, he lost his smile too...).

I believe that the stipulation at Royal Rumble was that the winner would face their brand's champion in the main event at Wrestlemania, so by that logic the night should be ending with Angle vs. Lesnar.

Maybe I'm totally off on what you were implying here, but who says Lesnar has to beat Angle at WM?

Lesnar has to get his revenge on Heyman at some point by taking the belt of one of his guys (either Angle or Big Show). It seems unlikely that Shows gonna get the belt soon so unless they're looking for a lengthy Angle reign before he loses to Brock further down the line, it seems pretty certain that Lesnars going over at WM
