On last weeks Smackdown they were teasing a Lesnar/Angle match for this week. There is no way in hell they will give this match away on free t.v. For all the stupid moves they have made the past couple of years, this would be the worst. You do not give away the Wrestlemania main event for free.
That said, I expect Angle to pull out of the match during a promo. My best guess as to what will happen is he will name Shelton Benjamin to take his spot. They have wrestled each other at house shows lately and their past history has been mentioned in the Team Angle angle.
If this match happens I will MARK OUT like a madman. Benjamin has really been impressive lately and I know, like me, a lot of you would love to see this happen.

I agree that this should be the philosophy...but remember in 2000, when they gave away the Big Show/Triple H/Rock main event for free so they could set up a new match with Foley. I seriously doubt this match is gonna go through, but just in case it does, remember that this is not the first time it would happen. Maybe they saw Benoit's pop at Rumble and thought maybe they want to change this main event up a little.
I'm still hoping the match is put off and Brock/Angle is for Mania.
True, but I think they had to know in 2000 that they were working with a dud. With or without Foley, the WM 2000 main event isn't all that memorable or noteworthy because if there had been any common sense at the time they would have made it HHH vs. Rock, the singles match between the top face and top heel that WM should always feature in the end. In 2000 nobody cared a lick about Show, and since they were already going with more than a singles match they might as well have tossed Foley into it to add the sympathy intrigue (something they did nicely by explaining in advance what would happen if the retired Foley did become champ). If you know you're going to scrap the main event you've been working with, might as well put it on TV and get some return on it.
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about the whole 2000 debacle. That was a McMahon in every corner, right? I guess I can file that away in selective memory.
If the fed does end up having Rocky/Goldberg then we can probably kiss the Lesnar/Angle main event goodbye. They mine as well have it this week if that is their intentions. I was surprised as hell that they even let Angle and Brock get physical last week. If it were up to me, the two wouldn't even touch each other until WM. I would've booked it like Rock/Lesnar last SS. Now that was some good storytelling.
Remember Kurt's words: Angle vs. Lesnar. Thus, using general heel philosophy 101, it'll be Eric Angle facing Lesnar. Remember, Kurt didn't specify which Angle Lesnar would be facing.

Clever, very clever, but I think it would be more likely of either a Benjamin Lesnar match or before Angle is to fight Lesnar Team Angle storms the ring for a beatdown, which would cause Edge and Benoit to come out to the ring for the save, setting up the show closer of Lesnar, Edge and Benoit leaning of the the ropes talking smack to Team Angle.
Hal: So, Dewey, I'm thinking our little Lego community needs a school. Dewey: Don't need it. Everyone's born smart. Hal: Aww, that's beautiful, son. It's a utopia. Dewey: And anyone stupid will be ground up for food. Hal: Oh. A cannibal utopia. Interesting.

That would be awesome.

What about a handicap match? Brock took out both members of Team Angle at the end of Smackdown, so you can bet they'd be looking for payback. The crowd would boo like crazy if Kurt said it's Brock versus TEAM Angle, not Kurt.

Also, a Benjamin-Lesnar match would rule.
Exactly, that's why Smackdown is so great it doesn't matter if Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Eric Angle, Benjamin, Haas, Benoit, or Edge is in the main event, it's going to be good regardless.
Eric vs. Lesnar would be a good heel tactic, and Lesnar vs. Benjamin would be good too, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Lesnar/Benoit tag team take on either Team Angle or the even the Angle brothers.

I think this is most likely to happen...and that would rule...
I would like to congatulate Al Snow on his contact with La-Z-Boy. Because we all know Al doesn't sell chairs. - Mick Foley

They're probably going to do it more like the HHH/Stone Cold feud of a couple of years ago. They were allowed to 'get physical' a couple of times, but the excitement for the fight itself was still there because neither had been completely dominant in the feud.

Crowd would pop huge but I dont think we'll be seeing young Rocky in person before NWO.

Kurt Angle indeed sez it's Team Angle against Brock, not Kurt Angle against Brock. This brings out Steph-Steph, who sez it'll be Team Angle (Benjamin & Haas) against Brock...AND Benoit and Edge...in a handicap match. Angle helps 'em CHEAT TO WIN and they all tussle to end the show.

I don't think my idea will happen, but what if they give away the WM match on free tv, and then make it a Angle-Benoit-Lesnar triple threat at WMXIX? Would anybody like that, or prefer a straight one-on-one match?

I don't know, this could be a fault of mine....but I get very pissed off if the main event of WrestleMania isn't a one on one between two of the industry's biggest stars. Angle vs. Benoit would be great (I don't think they've totally overdone that feud yet, one more match would be great to end it), and I think Angle vs. Lesnar would be great (and the best choice), but I think Angle vs. Benoit vs. Lesnar would suck (not from a wrestling standpoint, but from a "WrestleMania Main Event" standpoint).
I need my one on one, which is why I shit all over WrestleMania "2000". Even if the McMahons weren't in the corners it would have sucked goat on principle of a 4 way main event.
And that broken ankle (following yesterday's RAW Rocker reunion) gives the Shawn/Kurt match something more substantial than mere pride. Shawn's looking to avenge, and Kurt's looking to break the legs of both Rockers.
