Who do you think would win this dream match if it was possible. The match would be like a 30 minute Ultimate Submission match like Angle & Benoit had at Backlash 2001. Personally seeing these two great athelets go head to head would be great. Bret in his prime would for damn sure give Angle a run for his money but Kurt is a Olympic Gold Medalist. Well you make the call and tell me who you would take in this dream match and how the certain indvidual would win.

Who would win? Well, Bret does have what certain internet Gods refer to as "the 5 moves of doom", that's 3 more moves than gold medals Kurt has. But then again, Kurt does have Team Angle ... but of course if this is a dream match Owen and Brian Pillman could take care of those guys. I know!!! Lets just ask Vince who he plans on booking to win. So probably Kurt, although this time Bret may be smart and promise the ref favors from the Hart sisters if "he does the right thing". Sorry, very sorry, just wanted to say something (somewhat) wrestling related. Just joined the board (I'm the Newest Wiener!!) and itching to post. Seems like a great place.

That damn Shawn Michaels! Okay, my scenario only works if we lock him in a cage above the ring.

It's a very slow day at work..so here goes...
If I could book this match I would do the following:

Leading up to the match Bret plays mindgames with Kurt, causing Kurt to be all pissed (prolly having something to do about his olympic medals). Kurt counters with claiming how can you be the best if you never had one of these (points to gold)

The match would future lots of cool moves with Kurt trying to get all technical, and Bret Hart countering everything. Bret would definetly try to slow the pace down and take some breaks even..Eventually the match would turn away from technical into the suplex, backbreaker etc fest that we can expect. Bret at one point would start working on Kurt's leg, and eventually put him in the ring post Figure Four.

At that point Haas and Benjamin run in, take out the ref and beat down Hart. Kurt is in the ring, pretty much out of it. Team Angle roll Bret back into the ring, roll Angle on top and revive the ref. 1..2..NO! Both men are down, the ref is still not quite alive and then Benoit runs in.
He and Team Angle brawl to the back.

Both Angle and Hart get up, and the match goes on, with back and forth moves, both going for the finish. Bret does his moves of doom, Angle tries frantically to get the Ankle lock in. When that doesn't work Kurt goes for a whole bunch of suplex variations. Time and time again the savvy ring veteran Bret Hart kicks out (more ofteh just raising the shoulder or putting a foot/arm on the ropes)
This causes Angle to get very frustrated. Bret sees his chance and does a rollup, but Angle escapes.

At this point Chris Benoit returns to ringside with a chair in his hand.
Now there are basically several options.
- Either man gets a clean pin on the other, post match Benoit takes out both (demanding his spot and everything)
(I would say Hart wins it, though it would take a while before Kurt taps)

- The ref is distracted (by VINCE? coming out to screw Bret?) or takes a bump after which Bret puts Kurt in the sharpshooter. Angle inches towards the ropes, Benoit gets in the ring and knocks him out with the chair..Bret wins when the ref sees Kurt is out.

- The ref is distracted (by VINCE? coming out to screw Bret?) or takes a bump after which Bret puts Kurt in the sharpshooter. Angle inches towards the ropes, Benoit gets in the ring, looks at Kurt then at Bret and hits Hart hard on the head. A shocked Kurt pins Hart all the while staring in disbelief at Benoit who just stares back coldly (maybe flashing his toothless smile for a second or two).

Next show Bret (or Kurt, or both) would demand revenge against Benoit but that's a different story all together..

Well obviously it would depend on booking, dream matches like this aren't easy to figure out. You have to factor in the era and how it would be handled on a card. However, I would give the edge to Bret in a submission match just because Hitman RARELY, if ever, taps out, and I can name numerous times in the past 2 years that Angle has tapped. That and the fact that people escape the Ankle Lock with regularity, while the Sharpshooter was always certain doom when it was locked in. Those two points are due to booking styles within the eras of each wrestler, but still, looking at the cards each wrestler held at their prime, I'd give the nod to Bret.

God would a match like this rock. If Bret is ever healthy enough where he feels like he wants to have a few more matches(perhaps leading up to WM20), then this is where it's at. Either that, or save the Bret appearance for when Benoit(hopefully) wins the WWE title this summer. He could pull a Flair and come out applauding after Benoit wins the belt. "Your winner and NEW WWE Champion, Chrisssss Benwaaa!!!" Bret's music hits and he either comes down to the ring to shake and raise Chris' hand, or he just applauds from the stage. Damn I miss Bret.

Brett has Angle in the sharpshooter, but somehow Angle manages to place Brett in the Anglelock.

So both moves have been placed on the other at the same time. Both men pass out from the pain and the ref has no choice but to call a draw.

I don't know... draws tend to leave the crowd wanting blood and booing fairly badly. I'm not sure I would risk something like that by not having a decisive ending.

I'm also not sure that Bret coming out to congradulate Benoit would really be a good thing either. It should be Benoit's moment, but if Bret Hart makes his return (even if it's a one time deal) there it'll just bring all the attention entirely to him.

In my mind...they go the hour, not iron man, just the match lasts this long. They have the greatest match of either man's career. Bret gets thrown into the corner in the last minute and knocks the ref down. Angle goes for the angleslam...Bret lands behind him, rolls him up but Angle reverses it into the anklelock...Bret taps but there's no ref...Then Bret turns it into the sharpshooter, holds on...taps but there's no ref, the ref then wakes and sees Angle tapping and tries to award the match to Bret but is told time ran out.

So Kurt (let's say he was the Champion) retains. The Hogan comes out, Heyman makes an impromtu challenge and Hogan wins the title in 11 seconds.

I prefer to think that WWE is reviving the New Breed's old gimmick of a time-traveling tag team, under the new name of The Future Endeavours.
