Last night I finally beat Metroid Fusion. Ironically, killing Ridley was easy but kiling the SA-X (and the Core-X it releases) was extremely difficult. I linked it to my Gamecube (where I had already beaten Prime) and uploaded the old-school original Metroid! Huzzah! Now I don't have to drag out my old NES to play Metroid. They MUST do this for Punch-Out!!!, Kid Icarus and Zelda and I will have it MADE.
One gripe, though...
Ridley is in every Metroid game now (wait a minute...forgot about Metroid II on Game Boy, which I never beat...is he on it?). I have killed him zillions of times by now and don't get me wrong, he is nasty and cool and rocks and I love to shoot him. But here's my question:
WHAT ABOUT KRAID?!?!!
Kraid gets no love. He was awesome in the original Metroid and was huge and gnarly in Super Metroid. He even made an anticlimactic special guest appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee last year. But in Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion...Ridley is there of course, but Kraid is shunned? Why, Nintendo, why?
I played through both games thinking "okay, any minute now I'll run into a 20-story version of Kraid" but it never happened. When I killed Meta-Ridley on Prime I thought "yeah, Kraid wasn't in this game because they saved him for Metroid Fusion" but it was not to be!
Ridley wasn't in the game boy Metriod, Parts Unknown, that game had 4 types of Metriods as common mini-bosses, and the queen Metriod as the boss.
You don't get it boy, this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table. And I'm the surgeon. Something tells me to stop with the leg. I don't listen to it. But where in the world is there in the world A man so extroardinaire?
I spent a few hours Saturday beating the original Metroid and I must continue my rant against Ridley. He's a pussy in the first game! All you have to do is stand in front of him and fire missiles and he can't even hit you! He doesn't even move except for jumping!
Kraid, on the other hand, moves all over the place and fires flippy horn thingies and spikes at you. He's much harder to kill (I prefer rolling into a ball and bombing him to death).
Ridley sucks.
And you know what the worst part is (PRIME SPOILER AHEAD!)...
When you beat Ridley in Metroid Prime, his carcass falls off a cliff, never to be seen again...until the next game. Of course, they are setting up his return. BLAH
He's only beating me by a few minutes on these posts! Be glad I'm checking before posting to make sure there's no double-posts!!! You forgot to mention the announced Kingdom Hearts title for the GBA! HA!!! (mentioned here (evilavatar.com)
