The Kim storyline reached an all-time low.

Mason was only on for one scene.

No mention of Nina.

Pa Warner's facial expressions ruled last night.

Everything else was passable to very good.

Next week should be good.

The Offical 24 Body count moves to 66.

The other CTU Agent
Fake Sayed Ali

Karate-Fighting Miguel seems to be a good candidate for #67, but I will count no corpse before its time.

I wasn't that enamored with the episode. Definitely not worth the three week wait, but it is still nice to be back on track with the usual Tuesday schedule of Buffy and 24.

Is anybody out there not cheering for Kim to get turned into a giant pile of Mountain Lion Chow? On the other hand with American Idol as the lead-in, I'm not exactly surprised they opened off with this storyline. The cynic in me thinks that FOX suggested re-editing.

I'm guessing Stanton dies early next week of a heart attack brought on by the interrogation.

It is official. Michelle and Tony's romance is the amnesia angle of Season 2.

I don't think we're going to see any more of Nina until the very end if at all.

While Kim's storyline gets even more ridiculous, she only had about 3 minutes of screen time to herself. I mean they wrapped up the "mountain lion walks away" scene during a multi split screen, so I'm willing to give the writers a pass if they plan on fading her out over the next few episodes(they're probably not, though.)

A few thoughts:

Palmer was pretty kick ass in putting Sherry in her place.

Jack was not so kick ass in telling Kate about the bomb, his daughter, etc.

Tony is so gonna get burned by Michelle. (if they both survive)

Kim just sucks.

I love the way you drive.

This episode felt like a "marking time" kind of episode. It seemed as if they wanted to just have an extra week off so they just let things simmer on low.

Also, was I the only one who saw the split screen moment of the mountain lion wandering off and thought "gee, even the mountain lion is bored with kim..."?

Maybe it can start raining really hard where Kim is trapped for the next few hours...

This was a pretty slow episode, probably designed to get everyone reaccustomed to the storylines after the three-week withdrawl. We got very little of Mason, Sherry, and none of Nina. We did get a whole lotta people set on fire in kiddie rooms, though.

Jack broke out the cool-ass medallion badge (ala Denzel Washington in Training Day), so he was ready for some action. Too bad we got nothing this week as he keeps working his charm over on Kate, flashing his cool badge as a sign of fertility.

I think it's pretty clear what Marie's plan was, but her motivation for the alliance with Ali is still up in the air. She was going to take off with Reza for their honeymoon, then the nuke was going to obliterate LA and kill her dad and older sister, thus giving her all of this insurance money and control of the company (what's left of it) to fund Ali's "cause." Of course, what the hell is that "cause"?

As for Nina, I bet we get plenty more of her as the season progresses. My best guess is that the rest of the season will be about the redemption of Nina for what she did last season. I think that's why they created the Marie character, so there could be another evil woman for the baddest of them all, Nina, to take out later on. Or maybe Nina will take out Sherry, the sassy Queen Bee of evil. Either way, another evil character had to be introduced to give Nina a chance to do something good (ala introducing the Emperor in ROTJ for Vader to kill).

There's something about what Jack said to Nina last episode, where the helicopter noise flushed out the dialogue, that's probably a lot more important than we think. In fact, I bet that's the last thing they will show this season (ala the flashbacks of Jack & Family that they showed at the end of Season 1) after she saves the day and blows her own brains out, only this time we hear what Jack is telling her. Probably about her being a horrible worthless human being.

Of course, there's still the bigger picture with the Palmer camp. We knew Stanton was going to get electrocuted and all of that, but at least we saw that Stanton probably has a LOT to gain by not talking after the ultimatum the President gave him. I hope this storyline picks up, because we've pretty much been at a stand-still for weeks trying to figure out not only who is using NSA to undermine the President, but why? We're halfway through the season and still hungry for answers. Hopefully, we get them soon.

EDIT: Oh, yeah. Kim! Every story can benefit from the inclusion of wild animals stalking human prey, but my guess is that she's in the backyard of some Grizzly Adams-type guy with evil intentions.

Gawd, I hate the fact that they're trying to create chemistry between Jack and Kate. I hope I wasn't the only one screaming "No, no, no, NO!" at my TV every time they had a "moment."

I read in TV Guide some time ago, that they were hinting of a Jack-Kate relationship.

Where's Dr. Unlikely. I'm anxious to see what he thought of this week's episode.
