Well, with the non-screw job loss to Steiner, it is now official, Chris Jericho has now been anointed the Jobber to the Stars. He will always be over as a heel because he is that good on the mic and plays the cheat to win angle better than anyone in the ACTIVE game today. People will love to hate him. But he will never EEEEEEVER score a significant victory again. Oh, he'll beat the Tests of the world and other mid and upper mid carders, but the top dogs? Not a chance. Does anyone honestly think now that he has ANY chance against HBK in Wrestlemania? It will be a great match, but there is no way that HBK will put Jericho over on the biggest PPV event of the year.

Jericho is one of the few reasons I watch RAW at all. He is the consummate pro who is doing what the company asks him to do. He has said in past interviews that he will work towards putting over the younger stars. You know why he said this? Because he knows that unless HBK, HHH, SCSA and UT all retire or get hurt and put out of action for extended periods of time, he will never come close to the title again. So, he does the noble thing and will now put over lesser talents than him, such as Batista, Orton, O'Haire, Nathan Jones or any other big man Vince wants to shove down our throats.

I am getting so frustrated with the WWE. The want to "shake RAW to its foundation"? Then get the fucking belt off HHH and take the backstage power away from him. Push talent towards the titel that should be pushed like Jericho, RVD, Kane and Booker T. Give me a fucking reason to want to watch on Monday. Don't give me a talented wrestler like Jericho jobbing to a no talent black hole of suck like Steiner.

So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one---big hitter, the Lama---long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

I think if they really want to shake things up they'd give the title to Dean Malenko. I'd never stop giving them my money for eternity after that.

I agree with that u say, Jericho is too good a talent to be a jobber to the stars, Vince must be counting on Austins return to get good buy rates for No Way Out cause HHH - Steiner Part 2 is going to be entered into the dictionary as the official meaning of the word "crap".

If Stiener/HHH Part 2 is the drawing match for Vince, it will be best summed up by Billy Madison when he said: "That's craptacular!".

that's where they REALLY need to use the screwjob-ending-after-a-2-minute-match.. have the Evolution beat down and humiliate steiner at No Way Out, then have steiner's big 20-minute revenge match be at the following Raw, so i can turn it off and not feel like i wasted money on it.

Oh know, I'll leave that on just so I can fall asleep faster. Steiner/HHH = Sominex.

Maybe I'm just an optimist, but yes, I can see HBK putting Jericho over at Wrestlemania. I also think HBK will job to Hardy at No Way Out (if they have a match) so he can put the young guys over on his way out the door. Wrestlemania is supposedly his last match, from what I've heard.

I highly doubt Michaels is going to Montreal, so I doubt the Jeff Hardy match would happen. And, if Michaels is jobbing to Jeff Hardy, then a job to Jericho at Mania would not seem as special. Right now, by default, Jericho is the #2 heel on RAW. He might be jobbing, but at least he won't be hosting Mania from the World.

HBK wouldn't be the face in that match in Montreal, and they seemingly want Jeff to be a heel so it would never work. Add that to the old "Hell Will Freeze Over First" column, as well as Michaels saying he won't wrestle until Wrestlemania.

Remeber, Jericho still has 2 more world title reigns than Steiner, and he has beaten Austin and the Rock about a billion times. I'm pissed Steiner won too, but hell, Y2J has a much brighter future.

HBK and Hardy may have a match on Raw, but not the ppv, and regardless, HBK will go over. I can also optimistically see HBK putting Jericho over on his way out, as 'Mania is quite probably his last match, and he should do the right thing.

HOWEVER - I doubt it, too. This is HBK, after all, who happens to be best friends with Triple H and Kevin Nash... two guys who have never supported Jericho.

I'd rather have Jericho job to Steiner than have him job to HHH at a PPV, again. And again. At least this way, WWE can bury Steiner once and for all after that crappy finish of the last PPV.

My thoughts exactly. Nobody is going to remember the Jericho/Steiner match within three months-Hell, I doubt if anybody's going to remember STEINER in three months-and I don't see the point in switching belts around and screwing with the plans right before WrestleMania. Jericho does the J.O.B here, goes over Test at No Way Out, goes uberheel and beats the piss outta Shawn at Mania, and is set up as a top bad guy for the rest of the year. if Austin goes over HHH at Mania then we get Jericho/Austin over the Summer, and if Booker gets the big gold belt (which I feel is more likely right now) then Jericho/Booker can carry the show. Couple that with my inkling that HHH is heading for some SERIOUS time off post-Mania, and you can see why Jericho doing one job in a throwaway Raw ME really means nothing in the big scheme of things.

Look, there is no way Jericho beats HBK on a PPV. HBK's ego is so big that he won't put anyone over not named HHH. HBK will wreslte until he can no longer do so because he still gets the big pops, the big paycheck and is protected by HHH. Wrestlemania will be HBK over Jericho in a great match, but with HBK winning it will do nothing for Jericho except cement him as Jobber to the Stars and it will do nothing for HBK except to cement him as an egotistical hypocrite who will never do the right thing for the company.

I hope I am wrong, but with the way the WWE is now, I highly doubt it.

That matched bugged me, but the "clean finish" was not one of the reasons. In fact, that was probably the best part of it. I think screw-job endings should be so few and far between that when they do happen, it is huge.
Jericho did not lose anything by jobbing here. It made sense story-wise, and Jericho looked solid in the match from a performance standpoint. A Screw-job ending would have hurt the angle.
Jericho will get his day- I am starting to believe that now. His feud with Micheals will lead to something worthwhile...

Let's not dismiss Jericho yet--remember, he has to make Test look convincing at NWO. That's an uphill battle for sure. Then, HBK at WM, and finally, the title. I'm with him all the way!

I'm thinking that the Jericho/Shawn match at Mania will be a MOTY candidate. And if they deliver, then I really don't give a shit who wins. As long as Jericho wins.

I hope that you and everyone else who thinks like you on this topic are right. I am a huge Jericho fan. I thought he was the best thing about WCW especially when he was the "Conspiracy Victim". He needs another title run BAD. And, if he does wrestle HBK at Mania, it will be a awesome MOTY event. As long as HBK puts Jericho over. If it is HBKs last match, then jericho should retire him, like HHH retired Mick Foley.

I dunno. I still see Austin costing HHH the belt at No Way Out. That would set up Austin/HHH for Wrestlemania and leave Steiner to drop the belt in the title match. They can afford to have the face lose this one seeing as it seems certain that Brocks going over Angle.

As for Steiners opponent, I'm sensing a heel turn for RVD or Kane which could send one of them onto big things, but I'm getting way ahead of myself now...

I always kinda wondered what happened there too. I seem to recall Jim Cornette saying in one of his many shoot interviews that Mustafa was the one who had problems showing up to bookings when he had the Gangstas in SMW.
