Tonight at the Heat tapings, Sgt. Slaughter had a match and went over on Steven Richards. I guess we really are going to war if they're bringing him back. (One possible explanation is that there were a whole lot of military folks in the crowd tonight, including Sergeant Major of the Army Tilley. Lilian recognized them before the show).
I was up in the cheap seats, but my friend Jim was in the box next to HHH, etc. He said he and his friends took pictures of them when those guys got in there, but security quickly asked them to stop. Also, Stephanie was apparently in the box the whole time, sort of directing the camera crew around. Apparently she was wearing a hat to conceal her identity, because, you know, her hair is her only distinguishing characteristic. Apparently HHH and Flair sat at the bar together for the whole show while Orton and Batista hung out in the back and ate snacks with the crew. HHH at one point got security to talk to a guy that had a huge pro-Steiner sign blocking his view.
Other live observations: It was a fairly dead crowd, but they gave us very little to get excited about. I also couldn't help but wonder how much more over Chyna would have been if she had only shot T-shirts out of her gun instead of fire. They loved that T-shirt guy.
No...it was all legit. DC is famous for being a very cold, dull crowd for wrestling. However, I thought the crowd was mostly jacked. Granted, we did die towards the end, but we all knew Steiner was going to win.
Why, why, WHY?! They have such a bloated roster and yet they still feel the need to put a fossil like Slaughter in the ring. I'm that goes over really well with guys like Saturn, B2, Raven, Justin Credible, and everyone else who got released.
Hey, I don't even think Ole and Arn are related!! Well, at least a) we didn't get a fingerpoke of doom, followed by the inevitable "those who don't learn from history" message board posts b)
