HHH missed last night's show in Minneapolis due to a deep thigh bruise, which is reaggravating the same injury from December. The injury isn't believed to be as serious as it was a month ago. He is out of the house show at MSG and will not be wrestling on RAW Monday night.

Exactly! And as Jim Cornette sez: the marquee sez wrestling and wrestling fans pay to see wrestlers wrestle. SO, if you can't wrestle: leave.
I betcha this'll turn into some conspiracy theory thread where Trips didn't wanna wrestle whoever he was scheduled to wrestle during the house shows, so he has an "injury" to get out of it.
But he didn't. He has a real injury, as is reported by reputable internet reporters on the internet.

No one would think that. Triple H is a different person on house shows. I mean, he's even put over Rob Van Dam... CLEANLY! That is a very un-Triple H thing to do. Hunter is only a jerk when he feels he needs to be. House shows don't mean shit today, so he ain't gonna refuse to wrestle someone.

Oh, wait, he's just not WRESTLING Monday. Phew. I was scared there for a moment.
HA! Well, at this point, I think Triple H could retire from wrestling all together, they still wouldn't put over anyone meaningful. Mark my words, if Hunter left today, RVD and Booker T would still be wrestling opening matches while Batista and Scott Steiner got main-event pushes. I'll admit, I loathe Triple H, but I don't think it's ALL his fault that WWE is in the shitter right now (a lot of it can be attributed to him, but not all of it). I mean, I don't think Hunter was the one telling Vince, "Hey, push that Albert. I think a feud with him and Undertaker would be off the charts. The winner could face Bradshaw in a #1 contender's match. They're hosses!"
I just think that all the cocaine Vince McMahon snorted in the '80s is finally starting to catch up to him.
(NOTE: I have no problem with anyone's drug use. I just have a problem with drug-induced wrestling booking. i.e.: Undertaker v. Yokozuna- Royal Rumble 94 or Triple H v. Kane- necrophilia)

Just another reason why he *should* retire. Seriously, the guy needs to take a some time off to heal nagging injuries and to lose some bulk.
Omega- If HHH did leave for an extended period I do think that Booker would be the one who got called on to step up. As for Albert's extended push, in the words of the immortal Lisa Simpson, "Just don't look, just don't look."

That bites. I was really excited about seeing him possibly wrestle at RAW in DC on Monday (seriously, I'm a fan of the guy!). The last TV taping I went to was the Smackdown RIGHT BEFORE he came back last January, so I'm bummed.
Who are they using for a substitute for him tonight? Anyone know?
You know, in all honesty Triple H isn't that bad of a heel, actually he really has the talent to be one of the greatest heels ever, hes just forgetting the one major factor that makes a heel champion great - *VULNERABILITY* - Scott Steiner was the first challenger in a LONG time that the aveage fan thought actually had a shot at beating him. Triple H needs to remember that Heel's need to look like they can lose there title at any given moment - its what made his 2nd Title Run so great - Taka Michinoku, The Brooklyn Brawler, everyone, EVERYONE looked like they had a shot at beating Triple H, its what makes Angle such a great champion. If Triple H was willing to make show a little ass in the ring, and really do the Four Horseman thing right, he'd be a great heel. Hell, it wasn't all that long ago he was heraled as the NEW MAN by the owner of this site, and I remember back in 2000 when a lot of us were wishing he'd hold the title for a whole year, so that the championship gained credibility - it looks like we got what we asked for. :-)

That's a good point, but I think another problem is that people are just sick of him. Hey, you can be the greatest performer in the world. But if you're over-exposed, you will still get stale over time. Triple H has been VERY over-exposed, and people are just getting tired of him. Plus, no matter how many times people say that Hunter is the smartest man in wrestling, I say bullshit. The guy has put himself in some of the worst storylines ever created (necrophilia, Hunter v. Lucy the Dog, etc.), and I think that even the dumbest of wrestling fans can see that those angles sucked, and have pretty much turned against Hunter (and not in the good heel-hating way either).
It's funny that everyone who's been claimed to be the smartest men in wrestling have always ended up being the grave diggers for pro-wrestling.

Hate to be the real bearer of bad news, but will this further aggrevation cause the impossible to happen and Vince to put the World Title on Steiner heading into Mania? Right now, they should re-think the plan for RAW, fire Gerwitz, and then have Jericho go over Steiner on RAW. Heel vs. heel can be done since its a Canadian PPV, thus allowing Jericho to work as a face (last time they were in Montreal, they did go heel vs. heel as well). The PPV is being sold on Austin's return and catchphrase vs. Hogan, so the heel/heel match won't kill the buyrate. This way, if Trip looks like he might be out for a while, Jericho goes over (i wonder if anyone laced my drinks with LSD tonight with that comment) Trip, allowing Jericho/Michaels to be a World Title match at Mania. At this point, I think most/all of us are united on one fact: Don't let Scott Steiner get the World Title.
Bringing the French along in a war is like bringing an accordion along when you go hunting. All it provides is useless noise.
Redsox> "Hate to be the real bearer of bad news, but will this further aggrevation cause the impossible to happen and Vince to put the World Title on Steiner heading into Mania?"
I don't think so. Triple H walked into Armaggeddon with another bruise in his quad (the GOOD one) and won back the World Title from HBK. Shawn Michael's had a shitload of injuries when he won the title from Bret at SurSer 97, and he had to sit out 2 months building into Wrestlemania 14.
The WWE is fully capable of using booking trickery to disguise wrestlers too injured to perform.
CAPTAIN...CAAAAAAAVEMAAAAAN!!!!!
Of Course, I'm Just a Whiny Smart Mark, I Could Be Wrong...
How much longer is this going to go on, how much longer are they going to risk and hurt the world title and the show just to please HHH.
This isn't a fluke thing anymore, it's becoming all too common place now. He was injured for a month before coming to Raw in late summer. He was injured during Armageddon which he regains the World Title and then doesn't wrestle for about another month.
They are doing things that are not logical. Why give an injured wrestler a world title, so he can get booed out of the building in next months PPV vs. a wrestler that needs to be carried. I'm sorry I'm sitting back here thinking non of this makes any sense. I still have no clue what the logic was giving him the World Title right back on December.
Let this guy heel. Stop putting your World title and focus for a guy who's got a good chance of pulling or aggravating or whatever his joints everytime he takes a step. Let's be honest on Monday this guy didn't get attacked by Jazz (lol). He had a paint by numbers main event, none of his matches are ultra-intense and his body still breaks down.

Speaking as a fan, trust me when I tell you that this isn't exactly what I had in mind. I definitely missed those days of his 3rd, not 2nd WWF title reign. I got most of that on tape luckily, and well, you're right. Vulnerability or showing ass (figuratively, not literally, because we already got that) is always important. I remember when Hogan won and won and won, and then when he did show ass finally (ironically against the Undertaker in '91), it was a BIG deal. Still, if I had my way of things, he would've taken time of TV and house shows to heal completely and lose weight. I'm just fine laughing along with Jericho. I just need time away from him so I can remember the things that made him great, and not a pain in the ass sometimes. Are you feeling me or what?
