I think it's going to be Hogan-Vince at Mania.

Also, Smackdown looks good, and best part is no Dawn Marie-Torrie crap.

On a slightly related note, has anyone seen those 10-10-220 commercials with Hogan and Terry Bradshaw? Hogan finally shaved off that ugly "nWo Stubble" and looks a lot younger now! If anything, it'll make him look like the Hogan of old, and the fans will get behind him more.

Or maybe that's just wishful thinking, but still...

I'll put my vote forward saying a Hogan/McMahon match at Mania is EXACTLY something I want to see. I agree it's a program many have wanted to see for some time. I don't think an Austin/Hogan program would have ANY money behind it, not anymore anyway.

For me, it's not that I particularly *want* to see Hogan/McMahon, but hey, you know it's going to happen eventually and if that's pretty much the only big thing left that Hogan wants to do, let 'em go. It may cut down on him further lingering around.

Yes, yes, yes. *That* match is the true Icon v. Icon battle, not Hogan-Rock. The two greatest-selling t-shirts in history collide! I'm not even joking. I'll be a very happy person if I get to see this match at Safeco.

Now, if they use the return of Hogan to cause Edge to snap and become a crazed heel, then it is worthwhile. Personally, I don't want to see Vince McMahon in the ring again, so Hogan/McMahon isn't a Mania match I'm looking forward to. But, if Hogan pulls a swerve and jumps to RAW, my 15-1 shot that Hogan faces Trip for the World Title at Mania becomes a distinct possibility. Now, Rumble: Taker returns. SD: The Red and Yellow Anti-Christ returns. Well, its time to count the days until Nash returns to give us the workrate trifecta.

If Austin's gotta come back, we *better* see Austin-Hogan. When Stone Cold left, that pissed me off more than anything else - that he left before we ever got to see that match. The 80s vs the 90s. The past vs the sorta-present. WWF vs WCW. Innocence vs Smarky-smarky-smarkdom. That one match would symbolize so much and is the only thing I really want to see out of either guy anymore.

And that's a hell of a lot better than somehow seeing Stone Cold stuck into the Lesnar/Angle match (and if he wound up on Smackdown otherwise, you just know he would be. The first time he threw a fit was because he wasn't placed high enough on the Wrestlemania card.)

EDIT: Oh, and Hogan-HHH would be about ten times better than Steiner-HHH, if only for the fact that there would be actual crowd heat. Besides, nostalgia lets me get into Hogan's slo-mo geriatric wrestling, whereas there's no appeal at all to the likes of Big Poppa Pump.

Come on guys, Hogan has been talking for years about closing out his career with a Hogan-Vince match. It looks like we are going to get that at WM. Is this program going to take up TV time? Hell yes, is it going to sell tickets and PPV buys, hell yes. So just chill.

Again, I will be optimistic about this. It might be halfway decent. But, WM looks like it will be power packed with main events. Angle-Brock, HHH-????, VKM-Hogan + Benoit-????. Seems like something for hardcore and casual fans alike.

But, haven't we learned by now that Hogan will never go away. Everyone thought he had gone away after Mania XIII, only to return and destroy Mania IX. Then after disappearing for a year, he was back with his parade welcoming him to WCW. Hogan will never go away.

Well, forget about Goldberg now. The WWF now has its marquee match to sell Wrestlemania this year: Hulk Hogan v. Vince McMahon. You know people will buy the show for this, and it's not going to hold any good workers down, so let's just let Hogan have his fun for the next two months and ride off into the sunset. He knows, and we know, it's time.

And they now have an opening to make the Vince/Eric angle even more interesting... It's clear that Vince is now also displeased with Stephanie for bringing Hogan back. Why not have Vince call Eric and Stephanie into the ring at No Way Out, say that he's fed up with BOTH of them, and say that he's letting Shane decide which one of 'em gets fired? That would be a lot better than simply seeing Vince say it to Eric, and it would result in the same thing (since Shane was against Eric's hiring to begin with). Eric would then pull a Paul E. and bring in a heel Rock to Raw. You could say that Eric's producing Rocky's next picture. :)

Wait a minute, I thought you geniuses blamed all that was wrong in wrestling on Triple H. Now Hogan is the problem? Did Triple H pass the gauntlet to Hogan? Lighten up guys, and try to enjoy wrestling. If you don't want to see hogan, don't watch. And guys, its not all about screwing Benoit, or your other 'workrate' heroes. Hell, to me Benoit looks like a slightly overgrown midget, and I don't buy him as a World Champion, but that does not mean I think he's not great wrestler.

For those of you who don't think Hogan/Vince at WM XIX will hold down anybody lower on the card, think about this:

How do you build up Hogan for this match? The answer is you give him wins over guys on Smackdown. If Hogan/Vince does happen, we might have Hogan vs. Benoit or Angle or Big Show or any number of SD guys at No Way Out.

This is what I don't like. While Hogan's last stint was done correctly in that he put other wrestlers over, this stint looks like an exercise in Hogan going over better wrestlers in preparation for a match against a non-wrestler. (Know what I do like? Run-on sentences.)

I weep for this board when Hulkamania runs wild on Smackdown for 2 months.

The call is from heroism; will you accept the charges?

Hogan was such a believable World Champion. A guy who can barely walk to the ring. If it were all about size, well, what happened at the Royal Rumble would not have happened.

I seriously doubt Austin's stupid enough to get in the ring with Hogan. Who wants to have to sell for a old cripple? It was totally absurd the way Rock bumped around for Grandpa Hogan's offense last year.

We did have HHH/Hogan last year and the match blew on the level of Steiner/HHH. There was some heat at the beginning and the end but you could hear a pin drop during the middle.

Torchslasher: Actually, I think this is a better setup for Hogan to get utterly destroyed by people like Team Angle, Big Show, and maybe even the Guerreros and rappers in tag matches before triumphantly going over Vince at the big show. Granted, this IS Hogan we're talking about, but for anyone else, it would make complete sense, so why not?

I was at the Smackdown taping last night, and was blown away with the reaction he got. Hogan seriously got 15 minutes of sustained cheers and applause. I think he was genuinely moved by the reaction. They'll have to edit some of that out for television. Anyway, I was watching the audience, and everyone - the young and older fans - were on their feet cheering. If that's the reaction he's going to get, they will go with this storyline and drag out the Hogan/McMahon match all the way to Wrestlemania. Since the guy has got to be close to 60 (and looks it), they'll just have to keep him actually wrestling much. I really don't get the huge appeal either, but the man gets a reaction and that's what drives up the ratings, so he's around for a while.

The best dig was when Vince came out and took shots at Stephanie for bringing back Hogan, and commented, "This isn't 1985...!"

Let me give the Formula for IWC wrestling:

((Hogan*(Eddy+Edge+Crippler+Angle))+(Trips*(Book+RVD+Dudleys+Storm))<(Doink Vs. Goon)

Yeah, because look how he ran roughshod over Rock, Triple H, Angle and Brock last year! Oh, wait, that's right, he DIDN'T.

Also don't forget about teaming with Edge. Really Hogan got Angle back on top (he had been away from the main event for a while) by feuding with him, and then teaming with Edge and even the commentators talking about how Edge is the one that has won so many tag titles, made it seem like Edge was the stronger link, making Edge a contender. So he made Edge and Angle legitimate main event contenders. Then when Benoit and Eddie came over they were added to the equation by simply being in the ring with Angle and Edge. Then throw in Chavo and Rey and you got your Smackdown 6.

I wouldn't mind seeing Eddie or Matt get a Hogan feud, even if they do job, it's HULK HOGAN.

I don't recall the ratings going up when Hogan was last on SD. IIRC, didn't the ratings go down?
