So did anyone else notice the little soap opera that took place yesterday on amydumas.net?
I read on 1Wrestling.com that a message had been posted that "basically confirmed our reports from last week of heat between the Hardyz and management".
What was interesting was that the 1Wrestling.com piece gave full attribution, with a link, to amydumas.net, but when you went there, they gave full attribution to Dave Meltzer and Wrestling Observer--a detail that didn't make the 1Wrestling.com item at all.
Now it was predictable that this item would be taken down as soon as the WWF.com people made their angry phone calls to Lita and told her to rein in her webmistress--this sort of thing happens a few times a year anyway. This is hardly the first time that a zealous fan, in trying to help their idol, wound up doing damage to the relationship between the wrestler and the fed.
What's been interesting is that 1Wrestling.com has reported on every step of this as though it's a major story, but they have yet to acknowledge that it all originated with Dave Meltzer.
The Webmistress shut down the site, emailed out a retraction and apology, and brought the site back online with all the offending stories deleted. Again, something that happens a few times a year with fan-run "official" websites.
1Wrestling is now portraying this as the actions of a monopoly-mad WWF in stifling online reporting. What it really is--and this is the only really newsworthy part of the story--is Dave Meltzer working the webmistress of Lita's site into running something embarrassing on an "official" fan page. The fact that whoever posted the story added some incriminating extras about Lita "knowing that this was punishment" just showed how the internet is good for causing this sort of thing to snowball.
And one big part of the snowball--1Wrestling.com, who will go to any lengths these days to try and paint the WWF in a negative light.
As long as they don't have to acknowlege the work of Dave Meltzer while doing it.
The actual story is that the Hardyz and Lita have gotten stale and the WWF has noticed a growing amount of resentment and anti-Hardyz signs at recent shows. That, coupled with Jeff's burnout and the apathy shown towards the Hardyz split, demonstrated that the act had grown a little stale and could probably benefit from a few weeks off the air. It would be natural to expect a little resentment from Matt and Lita for being taken off the road so that Jeff can get his head together, but the fact is that they can't get over as singles. The lot of them could probably use a few weeks at OVW to polish their mic and storytelling skills, but I don't think the WWF could get them to go for it.
TheSmarks actually knows the truth we're just sitting on it because everyone else is doing it to death. No really.
I write what happened on RAW, Smackdown, and PPVS and insult. Every 5 months I write either an arm chair booker piece or a fictional piece of shit possibly based around wrestling. Yet The Smarkies list me as a columnist even though my weekly writings show up at 411wrestling under "TV REPORTS". Watupwitdat?!
Geeze, first we have people impersonating wrestlers and now we have people impersonating net "celebrities?"
And I thought E-Fedding was gay...

By the way, Amydumas.net isn't a fan site, it's her official website. Kinda similar to how mattandjeffhardy.com was the official website until it got hacked. I believe a young lady named Kat was the webmistress. And a nice person she was too.
It's like when Comic Book Guy banned Bart and Millhouse from the comic book store for life.
Of course, later on he subsequently banned everyone in the store from the store for life as well. And then he had a cardiac episode (Worst episode ever) and went into the hospital.
I hope that doesn't happen to CRZ, because then I would honestly feel bad.

It's the first perma-ban. We had a temporary "Stop posting so Goddamn much already" ban in place yesterday for 12 hours... but I don't think the person in question even noticed
I'm not going to wait until stupidity gets out of hand this time. I'm going to err on the side of not letting the board get out of hand - I can always unban later.
For now, I'm just banning the user name. Like anything, a 10 year old kid with enough time can figure out a way around most banning procedures...
How do you stop anyone from reaching a web site on the internet? If a site is publically accessable, I will always be able to get to it, no matter what steps an admin takes to keep me out...
Yeah, I'm not going to list ways around that here, but there are definitely enough of them. It's practically impossible to block anyone (even someone with a static IP) from accessing publically accessable content - so I'm really not going to bother trying to do it.
I mean, there are ways. On my other board, we have a cron job set to look every 5 minutes if someone has logged on with a certain name... if they do, it compares the IP against a banned IP list and then bans it in Apache.
Could I do this for every banned user? Yeah, we could. Would it be worth the effort? Probably not. In that case it was due to a 10 year old who would not leave despite repeated requests. The content on that board is definitely not 10 year old friendly, and I don't want to get arrested... So I made the effort there.
Here? If it gets bad enough we'll just go back to EZ board. That should be punishment enough.
1) hear that amydumas.net is closing down? probably because of that whole "amy and the hardys are in the doghouse!" stuff
2) what is with that london kid that wants to be here sooooo bad...it's like a co-worker i had to fire...it was his 3rd firing...he waits until there's new asst. management and trys to get re-hired and when someone realizes who was hired, we fire him...same thing here...he for some reason wants to be where no one wants him to be...
Sad, sad git...

ad.net is closing? That sucks. I never really went there too often, but I thought it was a really good fan site. I am sure the doghouse deal did not help matters at all.
I am not sure what is up with the London kid with 4 names. It is funny reading his threads when he writes to himself, lol
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
In an interview (on I think WWF.com) Lita/Amy pretty much said that the site never was officially official. She gave the girl permission to run it but hasn't even ever visited there.
Upon hearing this, (basically being kissed on the cheeck and handed over to the Romans *grin*) the fan decided to close down the site.
Very lame of Lita to say shit like that. If she never been there indeed then don't allow them to make a pretty official site for you. If you do surf there but had nothing to do with this little thing, just say so..

You know, when someone blocks you on AIM, it shows up to you that they've signed off. I'm not saying that happened here (if I'm thinking right, keeper often has long periods of silence/keeping to himself followed by short burts of intersting stuff)
