It seems obvious via the NO Way Out promotional posters that they were planning on a Steiner-Hunter rematch, but I'm sure those plans are going to be scratched now. Will they elevate Booker or RVD to face Hunter in february, or rely on Austin?

For Smackdown, I'd say give Edge the same treatment Benoit got tonight. Edge has had Angle's number in storyline terms, just like Benoit. Angle needs another clean win to keep building him up for Brock and as evidenced with Benoit tonight, a big time loss can help.

As for RAW, they can't seriously go with Steiner again. I'm sure they're banking on Austin for HHH's Mania opponent so maybe just do some kind of Fatal Fourway match with HHH, Jericho, RVD, and Steiner. Booker T is never getting anywhere near the Main Event, sorry. I'd bet my life on it.

Um...never underestimate the power of stupid bookers in large groups. Or something.

The crowd was OBVIOUSLY killed by the Torrie vs. Dawn match beforehand, and this feud obviously hasn't been built up enough.

Tomorrow night on Raw: HHH vs. Steiner pie-eating contest. ;)

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised to see them stick Steiner in the main for one more month. Since there's no real chance of either brand champion losing their title before WM, this is going to be a DOA event anyhow. Might as well hope the Montreal fans residual hatred of HHH for his part in the Bret Hart screwjob is enough to give Steiner heat, and let HHH prepare for his eventual title match with HBK at WM.

Oh yeah, I don't know if it's going to be announced tonight on Raw, but I'm calling HBK/Jericho for the title shot at WM, with HBK going over at No Way Out.

Dear Montreal fans at No Way Out,

Terribly sorry to hear that you may get a rematch of HHH-Steiner. We did all we could to tear this terrible match apart. Bathroom breaks, hot dog runs, booing the face, cheering the heel, boring chants, yankees suck chants (a Boston staple), and just plain indifference. Maybe you should try the same if you get another case of the shits that was paraded as a title match. In a perfect world they would move on from this feud.

Sincerely
A Boston Fan at the Royal Rumble

So Benoit got the big standing O. Awesome. But where does he go from here? Angle is gonna be tied up with Brock and being all dastardly.

Here's my dream idea:

Rocky said on RAW X he'd be back in about a month and a half. Circa No Way Out, in Montreal.

Hype Rocky's return at No Way Out.. and have him come out and cut a MONSTER heel promo about how he's better than wrestling, how he doesn't want to be there, because he has more important things to do, but Vince has him under contract so he has to be there. The Montreal crowd should crucify him for that. Then have Benoit come out, enraged, and slam Rocky into the Crossface. Benoit's been cutting those promos lately about how much he's sacrificed for wrestling, so it would make sense for him to be pissed about what Rocky's saying. Plus, it's in Canada, so Benoit's pop would be doubled anyway. It would be HUGE, I think, and could lead up to an awesome showdown at Wrestlemania.

I sincerely doubt that Shawn Michaels will show his face in Montreal for No Way Out. The crowd might not be responsive.

Hell, last time they were here, they debuted the Anthology commercial with Bret walking into the light.

They're pretty screwed with Benoit. They built the guy up and now has nowhere to go. Or DOES HE?

The best thing I could think of is to set up Benoit and Brock as a tag team to face Team Angle while Kurt defends the title against Edge. The thing is, they REALLY need to build Team Angle up as legit opponents and not simply two jobbers backing up the champion. But a tag match with Benoit, Brock, and Team Angle would be awesome and would give all 4 of these guys something to do until Wrestlemania.

As for the proposed Triple HGH/Steiner rematch...have you people SEEN that match?! Easy candidate for Worst Match of the Year and the crowd was actively booing Steiner at the end. The Steiner experiment is over, especially with the pending returns of Rocky and Austin.

They are screwed with Benoit. Although, if they were planning on putting a belt on him anytime soon the gimmick to go with would be a 'he can't win the big one.'

Team Angle vs. Brock with the title shot on the line.

HBK vs. Jericho again.

HHH (Ultimate Warrior) vs. Steiner because the Raw matches just are not stupid enough.

Couple of stupid Raw matches.

Couple of good Smackdown matches.

From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:

DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?

SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.

Does it remind you of any show in particular?

Hopefully, they're going with Austin-HHH at WM. Assuming that, this is how I'd do NWO:

* WWE Title: Kurt Angle vs Edge
* World Title: HHH vs Booker T
* Brock Lesnar vs Chris Benoit
* Steve Austin returns to the ring to face Batista (Flair's guy, sent to injure SCSA before he gets to HHH)
* Chris Jericho, Regal, & Storm vs Shawn Michaels, RVD, & Goldust
* Stupid Tag Titles: Team Angle vs Guerreros

EDIT: Yeah. No Steiner. :)

Just a couple of thoughts. R-Truth actually did get Jericho to engage with him as he had some effective mic time for the first time that i can recall on smackdown. The catch phrase at the end wasn't anything special but the meat of it was well above par....
