I liked Sean O'Hare's vignette on Raw. It reminded me of DDP's Bob Patterson gimmick.

I still would've liked to see that Santa Claus promo he did that was cut from the Christmas Raw.

He kinda looked like a sleezy flasher, what with the raincoat and all.

Is his "character" supposed to be that he's a perv?

yeah, i was also kind of wondering what exactly his character is supposed to be. like, he seems to be a devil-over-your-shoulder type, but i'm not sure how that can fit into wrestling angles. i guess we'll see..

what i DO like is the wwe's reversion to promo videos previewing a soon-to-debut or re-debut wrestler. not only do they build anticipation if done right, they also give a wrestler a head start in establishing a character. i remember the razor ramon promo videos like it was yesterday.. ah, the memories.

I thought that was a damned good vignette. I have no idea how wrestling will go into his character, but that vignette did rock the party that rocks the body.

Guess I'm not the only one who didn't get the little vignette last night. Why are they having him talk? He's got that monster charisma that Brock has. I say let Raven form a new Flock with Jeff Hardy and O'Haire. That'd rule.

YES. Especially...

"Check out my rod, mangh."

I think O'Haire's character looks unique, but it's still kind of the same premise they use for every new guy these days: he's NUTS, so BE SCARED.

Can't they think of better motivations for characters than "Grrrr! I'm crazy! I have a spinning head on my Tron video! I bite you!"

Looks like Nathan Jones is going to be the same way, but with a bit of a different twist. He's taking the Nailz gimmick to a new level.

Still...can I truly be scared of a dude name Nathan Jones?

The real Nailz should have been named Nathan Jones and Nathan Jones should be named Nailz.

I got the feeling that his new character was the devil-over-your-shoulder thing too. Of course this would be the perfect gimmick for Raven to have, and talk other guys like O'Haire into doing bad things, but i'll wait and see how it turns out.

Putting Sean O'Haire on my TV is very good. Making it seem like he has charisma is even better. Hopefully, he'll get a good-sized push to go with it. The fact that he can outwrestle every other HOSS on Raw should help.

I agree. I felt like the vignette was done so well, shot well, written well and he performed well. I think it might have been the best vignette since Edge's initial vignettes. We'll see how it turns out. The only ironic thing is that it seems the WWE is atleast putting many new, young stars on TV: Bautista, Brock, Sean, Guido, Noble, etc. But they devoted TV time last night to The King vs Regal.

Having barely seen Sean O'Haire since I stopped watching WCW the last year or two it was on, I didn't recognize him and was sitting there trying to figure out if it was a WWE vignette or if it was a new safe sex commercial or something. I definitely got a Ravenesque vibe from it, which is good since Raven no longer has that. Too bad this is Raw or we could see Dean getting confused with "Raven isn't Raven, Sean O'Haire is Raven." I'm definitely interested to see where it goes, though.

Oof, no thanks. Nobody really cares about Raven anymore and Jeff should take a looooong break from wrestling (preferably forever). How exactly is that going to get O'Haire over?

I liked the promo (I've liked O'Haire from his WCW days), and I'm interested to see how this is going to play out.

"like, he seems to be a devil-over-your-shoulder type, but i'm not sure how that can fit into wrestling angles. i guess we'll see.."

It'd fit in excellently and, done right, could be one of the most intelligent characters in a long while. Say you've got the good guy face, let's say that's Test, and then you've got Psycho Seany. Test's cutting a promo talking about how he's great and Stacy's been a boon for his career, and Sean comes up and says, in no uncertain terms, that Test's only popular because of Stacy, and it must be eating him up inside knowing that. test gets pissy and denies it, but deep down, EVERYONE knows that's the case. Presto, feud, which could see Stacy accidentally cost Test his match with O'Hare, prompting him to snap, or could see Stacy turn on Test, or just have test beat O'Hare all by himself without Stacy at ringside to prove his point. There's situations like that can be exploited with every babyface character; Jeff Hardy-"totally broken-down and near-crippled, he should just quit before he hurts himself"; Kane-"no matter what he says, he's still a scarred freak, and the world still hats him". And of course, RVD. A feud vs. O'Hare could work wonders for both, as O'Hare, acting as van Dam's inner anger, taunts and provokes him until he finally sheds his laid-back image and beats the holy Hell outta him. See how that works?

Well put. They would just have to make sure that Sean's comments are not too inside, or tailored to the smarts at least. For instance, we all know how beat up and haggard Jeff Hardy looks, but for most of his mark fans, they don't care how he looks, as long as he hits his cool spots.

OMG, that is great. That seems like something that would be damned entertaining to get the character over. I don't know how much shelf life it will have. Will they have Sean pissing off person after person? I hope that it wouldn't degenerate into a "Just Joe"-type character.

But I guess we know why we didn't get to see the Psycho Santa vignette from Christmas. This seems about 121321 times cooler.

I wouldn't say nobody cares about Raven (unless you are only talking about the non internet crowd) because I think i've heard his name talked about more than anybody not named Triple H over the past couple of weeks. However, I don't think O'Haire needs to be pushed into a stable yet, let him on his own and see what he can do. And Hardy should take a break.

nah, considering the wwe writers, a gigolo character would have to be a babyface, and that promo was NOT a face promo.

I'm just glad they didn't make him change his name to Cheif O'Haire.

I thought of that one just now.
