I've been revisiting The Shield reruns over the last few nights to get me pumped up for the season 2 premiere tonight at 10. I tell ya, this show kicks some serious ass and I'm hopeful that this season can match the first. Speaking of the first season, it's out on DVD today.
Professional wrestling isn't a hobby. It's a lifestyle.
Man, somebody else who's a fan of The Shield! I was starting to think I was the only one! Yeah Simba, I'm really psyched for it too! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go get the Season 1 DVD!
I've been looking forward to this day since the shield ended last year. but with a new 24, new Shield, and Robert Jordan's new Wheel of Time book hitting the shelves today, I will be getting exactly Jack Squat done tonight.
That 'Armadillo' guy is just pure evil. I can not wait to see them bring him down. I was kinda hoping Dutch would go to Mackey after finding the dove tattoo on the girl's face so Mackey could exterminate the guy.
Is Shane the guy who is the complete idiot? He's definitely the weak link in that crew.
I loved the look on the Strike Force team as they tried to look calm during the border check. And putting bumper stickers over the bullet holes was a master stroke.
I like that Mackey and the chief have to work together, and it's a nice way to give CCH Pounder something else to do (since the next week previews have her promising to go after them).
The only thing I didn't like was the tacked on nature of the black cop's attempt to go straight. They should have just let this storyline go until they could devote more time to his storyline. And I hate that Mackey is macking on Danny. It seems to diminish my belief that Mackey is SO intent on finding his family because he loves them.
Overall, good episode and here's to a hopefully great second season.
The call is from heroism; will you accept the charges?
I saw a couple episodes last season and wanted to see more. I watched last night and thought it was great. Definitely one of the best shows on TV right now.
Well Torchslasher, Mackey and Danni were banging last season too, so I guess it kind of makes sense that that would continue into this season. Remember, Vic's morals aren't quite like yours and mine.
When I saw the previews for the rest of the season, they showed Shane leaving the Strike Force, so I was wondering if Acevada was going to use him to get all the dirt on Mackey and the boys, but then I remembered that the two of them came to something of an understanding at the end of the episode, and they're not so interested in causing hell for each other, not for now anyway. I wonder where that's gonna go.
I'm guessing Dutch and Claudette are going to sic Mackey on Armadillo very, very soon. Armadillo's probably going to want revenge for what the Strike Team did to his brother anyway, which means everything's going to explode this season. Can't wait!
I was kind of wondering about showing us our main villain in his underwear the first time we see him (y'know, that whole "it means he's vulnerable" thing), but it turns out he's evil enough to make up for it.
Y'know, the last thing I wanted to see under that Band-Aid was a dove, even though I knew it was coming. That guy's more evil than dubbed Kaientai!

Still though, I would think that because of the family crisis, Mackey would give up the fling (at least while he searches for his family). He would have to know that this would blow up in his face eventually, even if he does get back with his family. It just seems monumentally dumb to do this, and I give Mackey more credit than that.
OK, maybe it's just because I want to see Dutch get with Danni. You caught me.

Ah, but if you pay closer attantion to his dialogu, you see that Mackey wan't his kids back, not his family. At this point, he's written off his wife, because she stole his kids from him. So, him hooking up with Danny a few times seems perfectly logical.
