Next week's Confidential has been hyped. It's a look back at the history of the Four Horsemen, including interviews with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard (!)

I'm personally looking forward to this one and I'm surprised they found Tully! Next week won't come soon enough for me.

What do the Wieners think? (And feel free to insert some Mongo jokes while you're at it)

I'm looking forward to that as well.

Speaking of Confidential, I liked the segment last night on Lawler's house.

Considering the way the company is going right now, I'm glad they didn't mention Ole, as I'd be afraid that somehow he would get his hands on the book. First David Crockett, now the Rev. Blanchard; could an appearance by the American Dream be far away?

Did we just step into that Bizarro World that Scott Keith would refer to when Angle was wearing the black gear?

I can't BELIEVE they'te going to do a retrospective on the Horsemen! That rocks! Honestly, they could devote a whole program to the history of the Horsemen. On top of the interviews, just think about the angles, the different members, and all the old footage they could show, too!

Whenever WWE does retrospectives like this, they always do a pretty good job. And sure, WWE puts their spin on certain things, but overall, it's still really cool. They ought to do more retrospectives, and go more in-depth. Hell, devote entire episodes! Start with the one next week!
Then do a retrospective about WWE's rise to national prominence! Or the Flair-Steamboat feud, or the evolution of Hulkamania. There would be no end to the goodness that could be had! (Sorry-- just got carried away a bit there!)

At any rate, I will not miss Confidential next Saturday. And may all of us who watch next week mark out, display the symbol of excellence, shout Woooo! and ambush faces and beat them down in the locker room area! (Okay, disregard that last part.)

I've long maintained that historical retrospectives (as well as personality profiles) is what Confidential should be every week.

Between the WWF and WCW/NWA footage, there's an infinite number of features (both serious and goofy) they could do if they wanted.

I'm sorry, I found his house a bit creepy as he has several rooms dedicated to one different thing. I can understand being a Coke fanatic. But then the Gone with the Wind and the shells room kind of freaked me out. Despite that, he came off very good. Leading me to further believe that it is Vince feeding him the horndog lines.

A segment on Confidential featuring WCW in it heyday: Eric Bischoff shows up on RAW.

The Four Horsemen are being spotlighted on Confidential: Yeah, YOU know what's coming...

Retrospective of the Four Horsemen featuring Flair, Arn, and Tully? I'm definitely there!!! I hope they concentrate mainly on the glory days of the Horsemen when it was Flair, Arn, and Tully along with either Ole, Luger, or Windham. As much as I like Benoit and Brian Pillman, the Flair, Arn, Benoit, and Pillman version of the Horsemen wasn't done well by WCW and Pillman left relatively quickly after the formation of that group.

The Flair, Arn, Pillman, Benoit version of the Horsemen could have really been something special. Pillman single-handedly made every show entertaining and I have good memories of the birth of the Loose Cannon. It's a shame (and on the other hand, it's not a shame) that Pillman found a way to get out of WCW. I liked that he was moving on, but it pretty much left the Horsemen dead in the water.

Mongo for Pillman is hardly a fair trade.

Of course, the rumors were at the time that were on the verge of getting "old Horsemen" vs. "rogue horsemen" feud, with Flair, Arn and two new people vs. Pillman, Benoit and two new people. Remember Pillman's "new horsemen" symbol that Benoit wore on his trunks?

You've got to be more specific. There were so many beatdowns of Sting by the Horsemen. There are 2 classics.

1. The night Flair, Arn, and Ole kicked Sting out of the Horsemen because Sting won a shot at Flair's World Title.

2. (This is the one I assume you're referring to) The time Flair and Arn had apparently split up and they were feuding for a while. Then, Arn got Brian Pillman to help him with a few attacks on Flair, which led to Flair begging Sting to be his partner several times with Sting refusing because he didn't trust Flair. Sting finally agreed after Flair "proved" his loyalty to Sting but, Flair immediately turned on Sting when the Flair/Sting vs. Arn/Pillman match happened.

That was funny and that was the reformation of the Horsemen after a Horsemen absence. Benoit was added to Flair, Arn, and Pillman shortly after that.

Though Sting beatdowns were good, there were even better ones. I mean, any beatdown of Dusty Rhodes is good TV. And of course, Ricky Morton getting his face raked along a sewer is a classic. Who can forget Ole and Arn destroying Magnum T.A. in the dressing room. And of course, Omni '85, when Dusty comes to save Flair from a Russian beating, only to get locked in a cage and have Ole,Arn and Flair break his ankle, with Flair actually connecting when he jumped off a turnbuckle.

Technically speaking, the angle in the Omni was "proto-Horsemen," since they weren't together yet. I don't think the Horsemen proper were formed until 1986.

Something else I want to see, the classic kayfabe breaking "make it good" beatdown of Dusty in the JCP parking lot.

Anybody remember the black & white promos Arn and Barry Windham cut when they were going after Doom's tag titles?

As good as Arn always was on the mic, that may have been his best work.

I know, but that was the moment Flair turned from the tweener he had to be in '85 due to his feud with Nikita Koloff to his usual dirtiest player in the game persona that he kept until the Funk feud in '89. Interesting question that I don't think has ever been answered is would JJ Dillon have been involved in the Horsemen angle if Buddy Landell had not coked his way out of the promotion. Remember, Landell was proclaiming himself as the real 'Nature Boy' at the time, so either Dillon doesn't end up with Blanchard after he dumped Baby Doll, or Blanchard joins a Buddy Landell heel stable.

It's possible Budro could have pawned off onto Paul Jones if they wanted Dillon for the Horsemen. Or, maybe even better, Buddy could have been given to Cornette, as Buddy would have been an interesting adjunct to the Midnights, certainly more than Rip Oliver was in World Class.

I think their reasoning behind the promo is pretty obvious. The New 4 Horsemen were in the ring together last night. Why else would they do a double handicap match.

Flair w/ Batista, 3MW, Rico.

It sucks, I know. But even Flair somewhat acknowledged it later in the show when talking with HHH.

Well, that means Roma, Mongo and quasi-horsemen Kendall Windham/Michaels Hayes (aborted '89 angle), are off the hook as the worst Horsemen ever if 3MW holds up 4 fingers.
