Or how about when they Faarooq started firing all of the nation, and it was down to just him d'lo and clarance mason and faarooq was all one more person is getting fired, and clarance was all d'lo youre so fired, and then faarooq fired clarance... oh yeah...

anyone remember all the incarnations of the NOD?? My NOD timeline is all messed up i think...

I'll share my favorite Nation moment.

It was Christmas, and Rock is doling out the presents.

Everybody gets a gold watch, but Rock's got something special for Faarooq.

That's right. A Rock poster.

Damn.

"hope you like to look at ceilings cuz that's all youre gonna see..."

The original was Faarooq, D'Lo, PG-13, and just a bunch of jobbers right?

D'Lo was a jobber himself.

Though don't you find it strange that when the Rock comes to the ring now - he does the Nation salute?

He's been doing that since around Judgment Day 2000 I think.

the present giving was a good one. I think my favorite moment was when the rock was standing behind farooq with a chair, gave an eyebrow and waffled him with it. i marked out, i admit it

As far as I remember, the lineups of the NOD went something like this:

Faarooq
Crush
Savio Vega
PG-13 (just as rappers)
D'Lo (just as a backup)

several other jobbers as backups
Crush and Savio quit the group to start their own factions (Bariquas and DOA)

---

Faarooq
D'Lo
Rock
Godfather (Kama Mustafa)
Ahmed Johnson

eventually Rock brought in Mark Henry against Faarooq's wishes

---

Rock
D'Lo
Mark Henry
Godfather

Faarooq and Ahmed were kicked out

It was around summer slam 97 i think, i remember Ahmed wrestling in the NOD Vs. DOA "bonus" match... but didn't Faarooq fire Crush and Savio Vega to bring in Kama and Ahmed? I'm pretty sure that's what happened. And I know for sure that Owen Hart was in the last version of the Nation.

Ahmed joined for a little bit in a "shocking swerve" type thing and got hurt pretty soon after.

Crush and Savio got fired cause Farooq decided it was going to be an all-Black thing.

Owen was in that last incarnation, although he usually just did his own thing.

I was a huge Nation mark, but wasn't really a big NOD fan. I loved the Nation's music and how everyone got their own catchphrases scattered in there. My favorite moment was probably when the Rock beat (actually tied) HHH to retain the IC championship in the 2/3 falls match (awesome match). That's around the time the whole Internet was going completely nuts over the Rock also (how nuts you ask? The People's Elbow won the RSPW 'best move' award). My how times charge.

I'm a total 1998 Rock mark and still hold out hope that he'll turn heel, reform the Nation, and start doing the floatover DDT again. Oh yeah, and say "know your role."

My favorite NOD moment was when NOD and DX were feuding (The Rock and HHH inparticular). I think The Rock might have had the IC title at the time so he was going to wrestle HHH at the next ppv. But HHH had the European Title so they had to get it off him. So he wrestled D-Lo and with a little help from Mark Henry and The Rock he won the title (his first title) and this hilarious surprised look on his face.

i don't know who was more shocked...d'lo beating HHH for the euro belt, or me watching d'lo beat hhh for the belt...

and i've been a d'lo fan ever since...

i loved Owens Nation music...

"Enough is enough and it's time for a change!!!"

"You turned your backs on ~me~!"

Loved how every NOD member had the same basic theme in their entrance for a long time after.

the golden Rolex/Rock painting was classic.
The transformation of Rocky Maivia to TheRock was amazing then. I still love his interview with Gennifer Flowers at WM14 (as long as the homeless stay of the Rock's freshly mown lawn everything is copastetic (sp?))

Funny that imo Owen was thrown in there to (as I got it) sort of get rid of the 'blacks only' feel the NOD had then.
He usually did his own thing though. Being an obnoxious heel

Damn..do you remember that DX mocking the Nation skit? Awesome!

TheRock's salute these days is him doing a belt pose with or without belt. If that happens to be the Nation pose is pretty much coincidence I think.

And Ahmed had "We are the Nation of Domination!" then his old theme, and it fitted so perfectly!

Regarding Ahmed, for Benoitfan7, he was only in the Nation for a little while but you could tell he was evil because they turned his ring attire black.

It goes without saying, so I'll say it.

NOD Owen was BAD FUCKING ASS.

He bit Shamrock's ear! And came back with BLOOD. Blood FROM HIS EAR! Or an extremely gritty capsule.

dMp, yes I do remember that DX skit. That was one of the funniest things I ever saw on tv, besides the nWo mocking AA's "spot". If I remember right, HHH was dressed up as Rocky, I think X-Pac went as Owen, complete with police line-do no cross tape wrapped around him (or was it that comedian who did the damned good imitations of WWF stars?). One of them was made up like Mark Henry, complete with overstuffed foam belly/body. Goodgawd that was funny. Didn't they bring a little weber grill to the ring with them so we could "smell what the Crock was cooking!"

Jason Sensation was Owen Hart, X-Pac was Miz-Ark Henry, Trips was Rocky, Road Dog was Godfather, and Billy Gun was D-Lo if I remember correctly. I may have the Outlaws backwards.

My favorite NOD moment was back in 97 I think. Steve Austin had a mini feud with NOD and Farooq accused Austin of a being red neck racist. Austin replied with one of those classic SCSA lines:

"It ain't black thing. And it ain't a white thing. Its a kickin' your ass thing!"

Classic.

At first I thought, if I were Superman, a perfect secret identity would be "Clark Kent, Dentist," because you could save money on tooth X-rays. But then I thought, if a patient said, "How's my back tooth?" and you just looked at it with your X-ray vision and said, "Oh it's okay," then the patient would probably say, "Aren't you going to take an X-ray, stupid?" and you'd say, "Aw f*** you, get outta here," and then he probably wouldn't even pay his bill.

I always thought that "It ain't a white thing, it ain't a black thing, it's a me kicking your ass thing." was a line from the Undertaker leading up to King of the Ring '97 where Faarooq chaellenged him to the title so he could become the first 'African-American' WWF champion. (Which the honor went to The Rock just over a year later.)
