We already know the three Main Events. The two title matches and the Rumble match itself with probable returns galore.
Now what order do you put those three matches in?
I'm assuming Triple H will want his match with Steiner to go on last. However, there's no way in hell that Steiner-HHH can follow Benoit-Angle. They'll probably stick the Rumble between them but if they're giving the fans a surprise return of Austin and others, I think the crowd just might be flat for the stall-fest HHH-Steiner after that.
It'll be interesting to see how they position those three matches.
As for the rest of the card, will they go with the Jericho-Michaels match or try and tease that until WrestleMania? They'll probably throw in a Women's Title Match because they need something to do.
Add in a tag title match. They seem to be heading to Booker/Goldust-RVD/Kane in a battle of the oddball pairings.
I hope there's a women's match. I desperately need to see Victoria live, if only to find out if it's worth leaving my life of security to become a male ring rat.
I want badly for her to chew my fingernails off.
Taking a tip from MoeGates, I find that I am Rex Banner, Ty Pennington, Dr. Scott, Berlin-era Bowie, a Snake Print Doc Marten, Jim Morrison, Butch Coolidge, Robocop, Regis Philbin, an Emotional Drunk, Lincoln, Kermit and Ghetto Fabulous. Of course.
Well, first off, DJ Ran's just weird. I do, however, agree that there should be a Women's Title match. Here's what I would do (in a perfect world where Triple H doesn't main event just because he's Triple H)...
The Rumble would be the main event. I would have the Rumble end with a non-conclusive ending, ala Hart-Luger in whatever year it was that produced WrestleMania X, the single greatest Pay-Per-View I can remember. The Benoit-Angle match would be fourth down from the top, followed by the Women's Title match, HHH-Steiner and then the Rumble. If they're going to do Jericho-HBK, that'll ruin the whole infrastructure, as you now have 4 main event caliber matches, one main event, and one very exhausted FleetCenter crowd. If they want all of the big matches to have a lot of heat, there has to be at least one time-filler, possibly a segment with Dawn and Al. They can't expect the crowd to be into four straight big matches. No crowd can do that.
Why do I watch? Because every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be DAMNED if I'm gonna miss that one after sitting through this shit.
I'm guessing the main events will go before the Rumble, as well they should. Usually there are four matches booked in addition to the Rumble itself and I'm assuming we're going to get two other matches. Jericho/HBK looks to be on tap for RR, unless they're both put in the Rumble match to further their feud. Personally, I'd love to see Jericho eliminate HBK to make things more heated, but it's more than likely Shawn will toss Jericho. I'm hoping the next match is a Smackdown tag title match, giving Los Guerreros a chance to shine against Edge/Mystery Partner.
With so many guys returning from the injured list, there's never been a better time to play the Mystery Partner angle.
Actually, I'd REALLY mark out if the Mystery Partner turned out to be Steve Austin, not only for the shock value, but also because it would actually MAKE SENSE!!
I'll see YOU at Wrestlemania X-9! Hey, Rocky! You're Next!
Well, they're definitely not going to do Austin as a mystery partner, for the simple fact that it would make sense. Of course, it would also not make sense, because Austin's still signed to Raw, according to...um...somebody.

Two things: First off, the Rumble match itself is ALWAYS the main event. Even WWE knows that you can't get a crowd back into it after the Rumble match. It's exhausting for the wrestlers and the fans, and thusly it should ALWAYS be last.
Secondly, I don't really see a guarantee that the Austin talks have produced any definite date for return. I could be wrong, and they could be doing this in secret, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here, guys: I predict Austin will not be at the Rumble. He will be back, but I'm not convinced they've reached an agreement yet...more proof is needed.
More importantly, who's going to be the announce team for the Rumble itself? Since they're using both rosters, I'd assume that they would use Ross/Lawler since they have "seniority" or whatever. Using that logic, I would doubt that they would have them call HHH/Steiner and then call a 60-minute Rumble immediately afterwards. Therefore, count on HHH/Steiner followed by Angle/Benoit and closing the show with the Rumble. I guess they could always throw a filler match in there if they wanted to give the crowd a break.
Professional wrestling isn't a hobby. It's a lifestyle.
I'm thinking the announce team depends on the undercard. If they do a Women's Title match and Shawn-Jericho, then I'd think that Cole/Tazz would call the Rumble. It seems likely that Brock is the one winning the Rumble so they'd probably want his commentators calling his win.

Originally posted by tomvejadaThe Royal Rumble will be the main event with (Austin as # 30).
I would love to see Brock Lesnar come in later in the Royal Rumble itself (which SHOULD be last match of the night), like #26 or so, and toss Austin to win a chance against Angle at WM XIX.

I thought we were all to believe that Lesnar would win the Rumble. So if Austin were to come back, which i still am very doubtful, why would he lose to Lesnar in the Rumble which he has owned, if he was unhappy about losing to Lesnar when he left.
Anyway, I think either Angle vs. Benoit or the Rumble should last so that way they can off the air by saying that it will be Lesnar and Angle at Wrestlemania.
Lesnar's a whole different performer then he was in June in all aspects of the game.
In June, he was a slightly over, very green, sloppy guy who was bumping around for The Hardy Boys and needing Heyman's help to beat a Dudley. Undertaker refused to job for him in a tag match back then as well.
Now, he's a confident ring performer whose shown the ability to have good matches. He's one of the top faces in the company and has wins over The Rock and Undertaker.
Besides, it's the Rumble match, it's not like Austin would be taking a pinfall from him or even have to be eliminated by him.

And this is exactly what conerns me about Austin's return. COnsidering some of the political BS he's pulled in the past, it wouldn't surprise me to hear of him throwing a hissy fit and demanding to become the winner of the Rumble, possibly even by eliminating Brock. Then the fed blows off Angle/Brock at No Way Out and Austin goes over Lesnar at Mania. Oh God, I'm giving them ideas...

So we've got, what, three weeks until the big show? Three matches have already been named (Hogan/Rock, HHH/Jericho and APA/Billy And Chuck), and on a four hour show that leaves about seven-eight slots to be filled. What matches are guessing take place?
