It'd really be best for the Packers if the Eagles lose on Saturday, yep.

Big thanks to the Steelers for making things a whole lot easier for me a week ahead of schedule (but I still think the Bears will beat the Bucs anyway).

I really enjoyed seeing surfer boi Robby Johnson fumbling and getting his arse sacked 5 times in just a quarter and a half. "Put he's got all the tools!" The Buffalo radio media says. Good to see Rob Johnson hasn't changed a bit in Tampa, atleast the surfings good.

Uh oh the Bucks are now under the Packers, Looks like a bye for the Pack and maybe homefield all the way and I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles do lose next week. But the Pack cannot take the Jets lightly and play down to their level especially in New York or New Jersey, wherever they play,

Sharper being out just might be too much for the defense - but hopefully the offense will refire and compensate for that. Also, maybe the temperature will drop below 34 for the "Favre magic" stat to kick in?

I'm just happy the Steelers one because after the Ravens choke job on Sunday I'd rather see them win the division than the Brownies. I hate the Steelers, but I loathe and despise the Browns.

And here I was reading the thread title thinking CRZ had jumped on our NYGiants bandwagon. Nope, he's only on the wagon because it will help his Pack. Well, whatever the reason, welcome aboard the Giants juggernaut to the playoffs!

I hope the Giants make the playoffs. They played a very good game Sunday.

Oh yeah, I know lots of people hate him but I'm a Jeremy Shockey fan.

That pummeling by the Steelers also opens up a slight door for the 49ers to get the 3 seed as well. After watching last night, I actually like the 49ers' chances against the Bucs. Now if we could only figure out that Favre guy...

I agree that missing Sharper will be hard on the defense, and I wouldn't put it past Mike Sherman to sit some other key personnel who might be nursing some nagging injuries (i.e. Vonnie Holiday).

And although it would be better for my Pack if the Eagles lose this week, after last night's debacle I'm suddenly not nearly as worried about playing Tampa Bay at Raymond James. Shaun King looked like a high school quarterback; he managed to throw a duck to just about every Bucs receiver. Rob Johnson looked really quite good on the third quarter 97-yard drive for fumble. Well, until the fumble, really.

And Gruden just doesn't seem willing to pound Alstott. Sure, on his few running plays he didn't get much. But Gruden refuses to dedicate any serious time to trying to wear down the opposing defense with the big man. Unless of course it's because he doesn't trust his offensive line to block well, which is understandable.

The Giants are for real. I knew I should have picked them this week, but I've been burned by the Colts a few times already this year (this despite the Giants being very good to me). As much as the Eagles are a very strong team, the Giants looked amazing this week and are certainly capable of beating the Eagles. Shockey, who's an arse, is also a horse. He's certainly got big-play capability and he might even supplant Bubba Franks as the most consistent tight end in the league within a year or two (Shannon Sharpe's up there too). He's certainly the best I've seen since Mark Chmura.

Yup, Shockey is the real deal. He has amazing hands for catching the ball and he just destroyed the Colts' defensive backs while they tried in vain to tackle him. We Giants fans like to use the terms "colorful" and "entertaining" to describe him instead of "arse." Thanks.

I believe another name that has been used to describe him lately is "Anna"......have to admit that he is good though

Just remember that if the Eagles win all roads come through the Vet.

From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:

DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?

SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.

Does it remind you of any show in particular?

The Packers get the break in having the 4:15 game. By then, Big Blue would have won in the Meadowlands on Saturday. Then, the Pathetics and the Dolphins play at 1 on Sunday. Thus, if the Pathetics win (considering Miami in the North on the last weekend of December, a good bet), the J-E-T-S will have control of their own destiny in their game against the Pack at home. Which, in usual J-E-T-S fashion, they'll find a way to choke on a halfback option pass in the 4th quarter, thus giving Green Bay the win and homefield throughout.

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

About last night:

Don't take last night's game as a representative of the Bucs. I know they now have a tough road in front of them, but they really are a different team with Brad Johnson. 10 of the points given up last night were the offense's fault (INT by King returned for a TD; fumble by someone in Bucs territory), and Shaun King sucked hard. I was really disappointed. I hope now the Bucs win next week to hold the three spot, because there is a much better chance of them winning in Green Bay in the divisional round than in Philly. Then I hope San Fran wins in Philly somehow, to bring the NFC Title game to Tampa.

Note: This is assuming Philly and the Packers both win next week, which should happen. The Eagles may lose in NY though, because the Giants have been hot.

EDIT: Of course, I would much rather the Bucs win and the Packers lose, giving the Bucs a first round bye, but I'm not one to hope for outside help, because it rarely comes. That said, the Jets are playing for a possible division title, in New York, so anything can happen.

Tony Gonzalez is a pretty consistent tight end. He rules the league in Madden 2003, that's for sure.

While the Giants may be a hot team, the Eagles are even hotter. They lose their star QB and win 5 in a row with their 2nd and 3rd Qbs. Giants have only won 3 in a row, after losing to Tennesee and Houston.

The Bucs are without their mediocre QB and get beat by the Steelers at home. The eagles are just a better all around team.

While I have nothing personal against the Pack, nothing would make me more happy than for Tampa to go into Lambeau and beat Favre with the temperature below freezing so we can STOP with those stupid "Favre doesn't lose when it's x degrees and Tampa can't win when it's x degrees. I mean, the Tampa number used to be like 40-something degrees and then they won a game, so they just LOWERED the number.

To say Brad Johnson is a "mediocre QB" and leave it at that makes me think I'm reading the post of a four year old. Care to explain why? I guess it takes a real chump to lead an offense with no running game and shitty offensive line to go out and play (part of the time with two broken ribs, mind you) and lead his team to some big wins. If you think he sucks, fine. But explain yourself or just don't speak at all.

He may not be Brett Favre or Donovan McNabb, and the Bucs may not be the 1999 Rams on the offensive side of the ball, but Brad Johnson is smart, damn tough, and a good quarterback. He has completely reversed my opinion of him this season.

I'm sure some of the actual Bucs people here probably could cite it better than I could. But I do remember the magical "tampa never wins" temperature used to be higher.

I want to say it used to be "43" and now I think its "40."

That is correct. Sometimes the temperature even dips as low as 38. I believe the original streak was broken by a 42 degrees victory over Cincinatti, tohugh I am far from certain.

Agreed. I've been very impressed with the NFL Network's efforts this year. Good information with less "alma mater rah rah" and more "that's a good move and here's why, or that's a not so good move and here's why.
