Setting a personal record, Shawn Michaels has actually lost his last two World Championships in the ring, rather than forfeiting a title due to losing his smile, being attacked by the entire state of New York in Syracuse, or general hissy fit. I don't like him, but at least he jobbed the belt in the ring instead of forfeiting the title. To bad he didn't do the right thing throughout his career.

Yeah, but aren't these jobs coming well past the time when Shawn could've effectively put someone over?

Well, yes, considering he jobbed clean (as per the match rules) in the first fall.

And he then pinned Triple H in the second fall.

Slick setup, really...they could score pins on each other to make things "even", then no one has to get pinned to lose the final fall.

He still jobbed first, and had it been a straight match-and I'm thinking in "real" terms here-then that would've been it. Hence, he did a pinfall job.

Call me stubborn, but I still wont give him credit for jobbin to an old click buddy. As soon as HBK won the title I said he'd only drop it to one of two men: HHH, or Nash.

If he had done the job to a guy like Booker T, RVD, Jericho or even Kane, I'd give him credit. That wouldve elevated a deserving competitor. But this is like Big poppa pump jobbing to Rick Steiner.

This isn't meant as a compliment to Shawn. Its more of I'm shocked he didn't do what he normally does and just give up the title without having to job.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I'll say this, Shawn deserves some credit for not only dropping the title in the ring, but bumping his ass off to cover for the other cripple's immobility.

What? Didn't you see Raw last Monday? Shawn was passing the torch to that young upstart and newcomer to the Main Event scene, HHH. Nevermind all those years that have passed since Shawn was actually "The Man". Nevermind the time period with TV ratings, attendance figures, and PPV buy rates that were far above what anyone ever thought was possible for professional wrestling (or Sports Entertainment. Whatever!) Nevermind that Shawn passed his torch to Stone Cold Steve Austin several years ago (and some would argue that Austin passed it to Kurt Angle since then). That torch was passed from a guy with about 5 matches in the last 4 years to HHH last night. Now, maybe HHH can get his long awaited shot at the Main Event. Then, I'm sure he'll have no problem passing the torch to another new star once he's has his run at the top.

LOL @ 5thHorseman, real funny post, but what's sad is that it's actually what the WWE is portraying and wanting everyone to buy.

I know RedSox explained himself afterwards but talking about the original thread I also have to say that doing what every champion should do and 97% of champs (men, women, cruisers, whatever) has done. When the day comes when we are surprised that someone does a job it's a pretty sad commentary.

It means even less that in hindsight it looks like HBK's comeback was the sole purpose is to work with his buffed best buddy and not necessary the good for the company as a whole (Hey Vince you are running a business not a make a wish foundation for top wrestlers)

What's to say that this wasn't all HHH's idea to begin with? HHH knows he has to drop the title, but absolutely refuses to drop it to ANYONE on the RAW roster, so he "suggests" (more like holds the production meeting up and demands) they bring in his old clique buddy HBK since "nobody else" is in his league, despite the fact that Booker and RVD, and hell, even GOLDUST get better reactions even through HHH's Jesus Push. And of course, now that HHH has gone a PPV without a title, even Shawn can't escape returning the job. Hell, seeing as Shawn's found God, and HHH apparently _IS_ God (at least, that's what he tells us every week), he's only too happy to comply.

Now, one could still blame HBK for not turning down the chance to be World Champion one more time, but somehow I doubt this entire thing was his fault and his alone.
