Well, Is this the fourth or fifth name change for Mr. Combs.

Who does he think he is, anyway, Prince?

This quote is rather classic though... '"I felt like the 'P' was getting between me and my fans and now we're closer," Diddy said.'... I thought of his music as 'crap' and not 'P' since his third album.

If nothing else, at least give him points for chutzpah in that he's trying to dodge the MC Hammer kiss of death not once but twice.

This hopefully also heralds the end of his desire to "create" really, really, really, really, really, REALLY shitty house music.

Is my "P." why my fans have been so distant? Maybe I should go back to being "DJ Ran"

And that's how you narrate a story.

There's a great interpersonal chasm that's developed ever since you switched to your real name from using the name of a DJ that appeared on a few episodes of WCW Nitro. I feel like I don't even know who you are anymore.

Personally, I think it should be changed to "Der Mody."

It's German for "The Mody."

He called into the morning show of one of the local rap stations here earlier this week, and one of the hosts asked him if it was true that he dropped the "P" because "Diddy" is easier for people to chant at him at shows, and he said yes.

I kept listening for him to say "just kidding" and give another reason, but he never did. Whatta jerk.

People chant at him? Publically? Really?
Man--what is the world coming to?

I really wish he would leave music altogether and sick to fashion, where surprisingly--his label does put out nice things.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. YEAH.

Like that.

Well it started as P. Diddy.

Now it's Diddy.

Next it'll be Did.

Next Di.

Then D.

And finally . .

Where does Sean 'Puff Daddy' Combs fall in to that chronological order?

Then again, I guess Sean Combs without the 'insert' would come first before all of them, right?

OK, how big a moron does you have to be if it's mentally taxing for you to chant "P. Did-dy, P. Did-dy," and the most you can handle is "Did-dy, Did-dy"?

The question answers itself. You have to be a big enough moron to want to chant for the rich and famous moron in the first place.

Diddy is far more marketable. Most of the hiphop world already calls him Diddy anyways.

Say what you will about his music, but Sean Combs is one of the worlds greatest business men and played a huge role to bring hiphop to mainstream acceptance.

Oh, and he changed his name to P-Diddy because that was what Biggie used to call him. Now it's Diddy because thats what most of his artists always called him.

If that's the case, maybe his next name change will be "jackass", seeing how that's what most of the world calls him.

I recall a story about Lance Storm having gone by "Lance 'Tiger' Storm" back in the day simply because two syllables are easier to chant than one, and it helped his then-face heat.
