I'm getting sick of people writing off Ozzie Guillen's stupid little tirades as "Ozzie being Ozzie." Earlier this year, when Guillen went off publicly on his squad despite having the second-best record in baseball, I thought it was stupid, but OK whatever he thinks works.

But now, after yelling (and I mean *yelling*) at Jon Garland failing to bean a batter Sunday, shouldn't someone tell this idiot that enough is enough? I mean, does anyone honestly think this dumbass publicly ridiculing everyone on his team for anything, or doing and saying such stupid things, is good for the White Sox?

Last year, I liked the White Sox. They were something different, and their pitching was amazing. But now I'm enjoying seeing them struggle (relatively), and hope either the Twins or the AL East runner-up can overtake them for the AL Wild Card, because this jackass doesn't deserve anymore success until he learns to keep his damn mouth shut. And shit, keep some things in the clubhouse.

I would not be a bit surprised if the individuals on the team from your area were sexually attracted to members of their own gender. That is how ineffective they are on the field of battle.

I'm right there with you. Last year I liked the White Sox, they were gritty and tough and not going to take crap from anyone. Plus I live in Birmingham where the Double A team plays. But now I can't stand them thanks to Ozzie. When he yelled at that player earlier this year for not beaning someone, ok the kids new, take him aside and explain him "the unwritten rules" since well, they aren't written down anywhere. But you don't have to yell at the kid. And you DEFINITELY don't need to yell at John Garland, who oh by the way, threw 8.1 shutout innings, which they desperately needed to end a four game losing streak. There's no doubt in my mind, that eventually Guillen is going to get fired, and when he does it's not going to be because of his performance but because of something really stupid he decides to do or say.

He needs to take lessons from the manager leading him in the division. Jim Leyland seems to know exactly when to get into his team and when to let them just play. I'm so annoyed by Ozzie now, that I even hope the Yankees win the Wild Card over them. Although I'm hoping it's the Blue Jays or Twins.

The Sox have been getting plunked all year long. Vicente Padilla has hit 3 Sox batters this year. Ozzie has tried to respond and settle it up and been thwarted by his own pitchers inability to do so 4 times (2 pitches by Tracey, 2 pitches by Garland). Teams have hit the Sox with relative impunity all year long, and eventually one of these pitches is going to hit a wrist or elbow or kneecap or anything and put someone on the DL unless the other team knows that there is going to be some retribution. This has been a very sore (no pun intended) subject for the Sox, as basically the way the season has gone is a Sox batter gets hit, umps issue warnings, no one else gets hit.

The big problem here is that the current warning system encourages teams to throw at people quickly and early, knowing that umps will generally then issue warnings thus protecting the other team, and even influence the pitching since inside pitches can lead to an ejection at the umpire's discretion.

None of this makes Ozzie seem any less pathetic/retarded for his assinine remarks or public abuse of his players.

Maybe he should just write a book where he makes himself seem like baseball's Hamlet when it comes to hitting a guy in the ass with a pitch, and throw guys he doesn't like under the bus in print that way.

You said it. It takes a special kind of jerk to make the YANKEES sympathetic in comparison.

Actually, it appears (sports.espn.go.com) that the White Sox are only 14th in the league in getting hit by pitches. I am actually waiting for Guillen to start measuring pine-tar on opponents' bats, and get in a fist-fight (maybe in a hotel bar) with Jerry Reinsdorf.

I think, therefore, I think I am, at least I think...

This might be simplifying it a bit, but considering the way the White Sox have been scuffling since around the time Hawk Harrelson went on Boston radio and claimed Joe Crede was a better defensive 3rd baseman than Brooks Robinson, perhaps Ozzie wants a bench clearing brawl to occur to light a spark under a listless team.

Well, as of four minutes ago, the Twins just swept the Sox to tie them for the wild card race. Bring on Detroit!

And then the Yankees take a half game lead over both of them. Looks like those people saying the Wild Card would definitely come from the central was a little premature. I still think a team from the Central will win (and I hope the Twins do), but people were stupid to count out the Yankees.
