The best way Ryan could turn heel would be to fuck over Cyril.

I was sorry to see Hernandez go. He really was one of those "psycho asshole" heels they need more of, but didn't really get into the "cool heel" thing Adabisi had going.

Maybe Toby's kid buddy is going to become one of those "psycho asshole" heels. Of course, the more likely scenario is that he's going to end up like Peter Shibetta in a few episodes.

Yeah Beecher's friend is definitely heading for Pragville. The characters I really dislike Omar White and Robson. White won't shut up and Robson is just a POS.
I just hope that the semi driver who killed all the prisoners family doesn't end up in OZ. It is already obvious that the Maryland DOC is the dumbest organization in the world. I mean talking about making Glenn the lietenant governor. Did they notice that more than 30 murders had been commited in 3 year? Not exactly a great job performance. And throwing Cyril in there after he killed that Dr.s husband. Well, I guess they need to try to tie in all the plots.

Did I say a few episodes? I meant next episode.

Best part of the show: Klingon dude talked! And Robson's flashback was pretty cool. Although I think if they had been an interracial couple it would have been a little more believable.

Hey, whenever you get too pissed at Robson, just remember he got part of cock bitten off. That should satisfy you. Plus he looks like he's headed for some trouble next episode.

I beleive that it was an interracial couple, when the screen went to color you could see that the guy was white.

Don't double cross Ryan O'Reily just don't DO it.

Poet is going to go down sooner rather or later.

The dog storyline is still driving me nuts, and what's up with the lotto ticket?

That little red head fuck just will not go down will he, and where the hell is that preacher anyway (Luke Perry)?

Robson does look like he's headed for trouble, but it's gotta be more than the gums that get him the boot, doesn't it?

NOW what happens to Keller after the beating he got from the old school Chyna look alike.

That whole Beecher/Keller singing bit was hilarious.

Those stories are done with. OZ is worse than WCW when it comes to blowing off angles. It usually just kind of lets them peter out and become part of the backstory. Although OZ is great when it comes to continuity from season to season. Because of these two traits there's shit that happened in season 1 that still has relevance to the plot and characters today, which is pretty cool.

I am sorry but I hated the Luke Perry stuff. Sure it was cool seeing anyone from 90210 get their skinned burned off but astral fucking projection!? WTF? Plus that skinny redhead should be dead. I mean a 1 inch stab wound in the stomache and he's still alive. Well, at least he is creepy but not very scary.

I didn't like the way he went from dickhead television preacher that ripped off the public, to holier than thou after the burning.

I'm very interested to see where things are headed. They have some really good storylines brewing right now.

As odd as it was, I may very well say that the last episode was my favorite.

Augustus and his commentaries are my favorite part of the show... he's gone for a show, and I don't mind one bit.

I wnet into the show thinking it was going to be funny, and I certainly wasn't let down. Robson's dentist damn near stole the show, even with having only two segments to work with.

I think the lottery ticket story has sadly resolved itself for now. Brass cashed it in, they can't find him, end of story. Next week, or maybe a few eps down the line, we'll hear about Rebadow's kid getting worse or even dying. I have a feeling that one way or another, Rebadow will *somehow* either kill Brass himself, or make a deal to get it done.

I look at the dog thing as "Alvarez Had Nothing Better To Do". His quasi-face turn has been an interesting journey- it's something to see a guy gone so mad that he's rubbing his own shit all over himself to showing sympathy for the man he blinded. Looks like, um, Other Guy With Dog has another idea for his pooch next week. (I *hate* that fucking guard.)

I didn't care for the last second swerve beatdown of Keller, but it did serve the purpose to further Beecher's hopeless journey. I like Beech, but didn't mind seeing him get screwed.

As for his deal with Vern... man, I've never cheered before for Schillinger, but when they took Adam into that room, that was COOL. I hate that little fuck.

Timmy Kirk (the little creepy guy) has come out of NOWHERE to be really huge right now, and I think there's a LOT left to come. The shots of him drawing the pictures and not saying a damn thing were IMPACT and will mean something even more down the line.

This Clarence guy bugs me. Huge fat black guy with a mile-wide smile just SHOULD equal mega-face, but he's a dick like the rest, sadly.

I miss the Luke Perry character, which surprises me. So where the fuck did he walk off to?

Call this paranoia, but I wonder if he's even coming back. I've seen ads on Showtime for some big project that he's a part of, and I wonder if they've just written him off. I only wonder because I saw J.D. Williams (Kenny "Bricks" Wangler) on a Showtime program within a few months after his Oz death... I'm wondering if Showtime is trying to nab HBO's actors.

I really got a kick out of the way Shilliger kept scolding Robson about his dental hygine.

It looks like a lot is going down in the world of the Aryans next show. They haven't had a shakeup in sometime, so this should be interesting.

I heard that Oz did the "variety" interludes because the guy who plays Augustus was off filming the Matrix sequels during the taping. Augustus is back next week, so it might have been a short trip.
A little while earlier in the thread people were complaining about the lack of main event level heels on the show. I think that Tommy Kirk has become at least an upper-card heel. He is able to get his "followers" to kill who he needs (like Morales), yet is not above doing what he has to do to get ahead (his scene with Clarence typifies this). He may not be scary in a muscular way, but his control over people is slowly reaching Vern-heights.
You have to also like the fact that the wife of the blind guard is skeptical because she thinks that Alvarez trained the dog to attack them, which is followed by scenes from the next episode where the other prisoner with the dog does that very thing.
The writing on Oz is as great as always, exemplified by the scene between McManus and the other officer (the scene concerned McManus having guilt over officer Brass's injury). This scene provided insight into McManus's psyche, and allowed the other officer to make some good points about taking responsibilities for our actions.
One question: What's the deal with the "On the next episode of Oz" promo with Vern telling the new prag (Adam) that he will help him escape? What is Schillinger's big plan for this guy?

That's easy. I suspect Verne is going to either make sure he gets killed in the attempt in order to further fuck with Beecher or help him get out on the condition that he does something to Beecher's family.

Ugh- an bit of a slow show. They are building towards some deaths though.
- Timmy Kirk has FINALLY found himself in some trouble.
- Rebadow is freakin killing me here with his story.
- Jia looks to be about done.
- I was surprised that they killed off that kid already.
- Maybe we can finally kill off the dog storyline once and for all.

Damn, season finale time already, we just started! Looks like it could be a good one though.

I wonder if they're going to do a two-part season again. This seemed really short. I bet they start up again in the summer, because I don't see how they can tie up all these loose ends in one show.

OZ was once one of my favorite shows, and I still watch it, but these last two seasons have really lacked something. A lot of the plot elements cause me to say, "No way that would ever happen in real life" and that's something I never used to say during the first three seasons. It's definitely in soap opera territory now, with bus crashes, lottery tickets, and disappearing preachers.

I think the neatest thing plotwise about the "Variety" episodes was that Augustus was apparently incapacitated due to an overdose during the entire timeframe of the episode, hence, no narration. It was cool how that fit together. And the Schillinger/Beecher duet was the best part of the episode.

Schillinger is still the coolest thing going. I thought it was funny how he got some Aryan bigwig to visit him and give him advice about Robson. I don't think anyone else on the show gets so much pleasure out of being evil, now that Adebesi is gone.

It's always fun seeing O'Reilly at work.

As far as killer heels, I always liked that Russian guy Kosygin, the guy who stabbed someone to death with a pair of glasses. I guess he's still in the hole. A lot of people hated that character, but I always thought he was cool.

Wasn't the guy who plays Clarence, Emmanuel Yarborough, a sumo wrestler?

While I also hate the quasi-supernatural storylines, they really aren't anything new. Rebadow has always talked with God (although God shut up through most of seasons 3 and 4). There was that awful storyline with Peter Marie and that weirdo trying to solve the murder mystery. And the schlok factor started really early - remember Jefferson Keane?

From this board and everyone I've talked to about this show, here are the good and bad plots:

Good - fights among gangs for the control of the drug trade (or kitchen or whatever). O'Reilly (actually anyone) engaging in Machiavellian plots against whoever. Anything involving creative violent acts. Characters trying not to fuck but failing.

Bad - anything involving anything supernatural. Anything involving characters trying not to fuck up and succeding. Anything involving McManus, Peter Marie, or Rebadow (unless Rebadow is engaging in creative violent acts, like when he stabbed Hernandez).

What bugs me in terms of the "unrealistic" stuff isn't really the supernatural stuff. It's shit like Beecher and Shillinger doing that "interaction." Give me a fucking break. If someone killed my kid and sent his hand to me in a box (not to mention raped me) I wouldn't stop until that fucker was dead. I mean, at least I sure wouldn't be sitting in the same room with him trying to work shit out, like it was a bad case of office politics or something.

I agree totally about the interaction.

The two biggest problems I had with last season were the IRA guy and the Chinese refugees. There is no way in hell that anyone would allow refugees into a prison and have them be in contact with the convicts. There is also no way that someone waiting to be deported would be sent to a state prison.

I was okay with the Luke Perry character until the supernatural BS this season.

One thing this season I've noticed already...when Peter Schivetta tries to enlist the Muslims to help him against the Aryans, Said tells him that since he was raped by Adebesi, he will always be considered one of Adbesi's bitches. If that's so, then wouldn't Beecher always be considered one of Schillinger's bitches and get no respect from anyone? It's little stuff like that that makes me think the show is going downhill.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think this makes sense. Schibetta was trying to be a big shot, to run shit, to be a leader. When Said said "respect" he meant respect as a leader, a big shot, a guy who can run things. That's not Beecher's bag. Beecher's never tried to be a big shot. They're in a totally different class. People may like Beecher, they may take his advice, they may help him out, but the guy doesn't have any "juice."

Plus Beecher at least fought back and got revenge on Schillinger. Schibetta never did that with Adabisi. I wonder if he'll ever get Shillinger.

When the show ends something will have to happen with Beecher/Schillinger.

Either Beecher will be released or one of the two will get killed by the other. All roads in OZ really go through them one way or the other.

I agree with most of your good/bad points Moe, and I really do have a problem with the way guys are just able to blow off certain things that have happened to them. All flaws aside it really does have some great *high spots*.

***SEASON FINALE***

Well, since no one has said much from last week this weeks show had a lot of twists and turns and could have some real good stories going into next season.

Solitary and Death Row are starting to fill up.
Shillinger in Solitary...HA
Good ole Alvarez is back
Beecher is gonna be in deep shit
and August is...DEAD?

I really started to dig Robson and Morales this season. Robson scraping his gums off was fairly brutal...

Redding is starting to grow on me, too.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"
