As an update; the strike is still happening. Talks are tenatively set to resume on either Saturday or Sunday (Click Here (ottawasun.com) for more info).

Meanwhile, if I don't find a car pool scenario for myself by the end of the day today, I either need to start riding my bike to work or face the $50/day (half of my daily income) cab ride. Oh, and another big snow storm is heading its way up here in time for either tonight or tomorrow.

EDIT: Crisis adverted, car pool obtained!!

Has Ottawa's municipal government done anything to force these guys back to the bargaining table?

The link I gave above is the most recent development to come thus far. No back-to-work legisation has been proposed. Tough talk on both sides until today, which hopefully means that results will happen.

Big Arse storm for sure. Reports so far say no fatalities which is great. More info will come out as rescue teams get to the more remote areas. The township of Tully has been hit pretty hard. They're expecting secondary storm flooding today.
