As an update; the strike is still happening. Talks are tenatively set to resume on either Saturday or Sunday (Click Here (ottawasun.com) for more info).
Meanwhile, if I don't find a car pool scenario for myself by the end of the day today, I either need to start riding my bike to work or face the $50/day (half of my daily income) cab ride. Oh, and another big snow storm is heading its way up here in time for either tonight or tomorrow.
EDIT: Crisis adverted, car pool obtained!!

The link I gave above is the most recent development to come thus far. No back-to-work legisation has been proposed. Tough talk on both sides until today, which hopefully means that results will happen.

I haven't got the figures on education in front of me, but how provincial health spending of roughly $18 million in 1995 compared to approximately $28 million in 2003 constitutes cutting a fortune from health care I have no idea.
