I thought there would already be one! Anyway... This is the first time I can remember that I've liked all five of the movies nominated for best picture -- no matter what wins, I'll be pleased. Some would please me more than others, of course. I would rank the five nominees in this order, on the basis of my own personal enjoyment: 1. No Country for Old Men 2. Juno 3. There Will be Blood 4. Atonement 5. Michael Clayton But, again, I liked all of them. Here are my predictions -- not my personal choices, although there's some overlap, of course. The ones at the bottom are slightly -- slightly -- more than guesses. PICTURE No Country for Old Men DIRECTOR Coen Brothers, No Country for Old Men ACTOR Daniel Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood ACTRESS Julie Christie, Away from Her SUPP. ACTOR Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men SUPP. Cerebus Scrapple Since: 17.11.02 Since last post: 10 days Last activity: 4 hours # 2 Posted on 24.2.08 1908.30 | Instant Rating: 1.48 I predict a 4 and a half hour snooze-fest with John stewert using the 'Uma... Oprah" joke at least once. I also predict there being too many people mentioning Heath Ledger. Three would be too many by my count. I'm predicting that Julian Schnabel will be wearing a suit and tie, not a tuxedo and not his pajamas like at that other awards show a few weeks ago. Lastly, if Diablo Cody wins, I predict that all the other writers nominated will think "Fucking whole stripper, who the fuck does she think SHE is winning MY award!" and one of them will be seen mouthing "Fucking stripper!" on screen. Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.
