So many of these articles have been headlined by things like "Osama's Top Blank" and "Osama's Chief This" or "Osama's Number One Guy Here" that I have become completely numb to this.

Even if it's true it just comes across as so blown out of proportion that we're just continually patting ourselves on the back, and I find it hard to believe that we're actually making any real progress in the "Struggle Against Extremeism".

They ran the same kinds of headlines for all of Saddam's guys too, so that may have contributed to this feeling.

And by "we" above, you mean...the Saudi police? I guess? Or are you talking about some other story linked in the first post?

Every dead or jailed terrorist is a win for 'us'?

I guess I imagine every nation's counter-terror units calling each other up and throwing a party everytime they get someone on the watch list.

I have an overactive imagination.

I appreciate the sarcasm. Unfortunately, every jailed or dead terrorist seems to lead to more terrorists. Not saying we should stop but we really need to figure out what the hell to do to stop this.

Moe's correct in his assessment. If we had played it a bit smarter, their government would be in a much less precarious spot with the fundmentalists.
