Does this show the Braves are really reaching now? Should the Cubs counter with Wood on three days? And if it does go back to Atlanta, if you're Bobby Cox, do you start Hampton on three days or try Horatio Ramirez?

Damn, what a series.

A two-one series advantage is just that: an advantage. No way Woody should go; Clement can close it out at home, and if you fail, you still have Wood on four days rest to go at Turner. The Cubs don't have to win Saturday. The Braves do. Thus the desperation.

How many times has Ortiz pitched on short rest recently? He's already not the greatest of control pitchers, this could be disasterous for ATL.

Cub Fear looms for fans in Atlanta, San Francisco and Florida.

Cub Fear is real.

Cub Fear is frightening.

Hmm, looks like sliding into first base if out of style. Time to start wailing arms at the first baseman's glove hand.

Far be it from me to question the managerial skills or motivations of Lou Pinella, but this has to be the first time that a manager was stupid enough to let a middle reliever stay in the game long enough to give up nine runs.
