ESPN.com - MLB - Red Sox send Papi home with recurrence of heart issue

BOSTON -- Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, the AL leader in home runs and RBI, will have more tests for heart palpitations before he returns to the lineup.

The tests will take a few days, said Red Sox medical director Thomas Gill on Tuesday.

I hope it's nothing serious. Hopefully it's a case like Glavine's "blood clot" in which he was back within a few days.

No Ortiz...
No Manny...
No Varitek...

Sox fans, time to throw in the towel?

TEN YEARS AGO IN WRESTLING HISTORY: AUGUST 1996
WWF: Shawn Michaels d. Vader at Summerslam '96. It would prove to be one of Vader's last main events and he sure made a go of it. Also, Mankind and Undertaker faced off in one of the modern-day classics: The Boiler-Room Brawl!

WCW: Hulk Hogan wins the WCW title from The Giant, beginning a YEAR-LONG title reign that would be briefly interrupted by Lex Luger for six days before holding onto the title for ANOTHER four months. THIS was WCW!

This sucks! I hope its nothing serious. He is a Yankee Killer, but I respect him nonetheless. Hope he gets better soon!

That time was a few weeks ago.
Hopefully neither Dr. Pappas or Gilbert Mudge are involved in this diagnosis. Shut him down for the season and see him again in late February healthy. Not worth ruining his career/life on a team that had it's front office quit on it at the end of July and the rest of the team quitting in early/mid August.

Wait, in what way did you see Walker contributing last season? I must have missed his huge impact on the team down the stretch. I actually like the pitching situation a little better than last year. Granted I'm biased based on location, but still....
