| #22 Posted on 5.5.06 0804.03 | Instant Rating: 4.39 | I like the Lucas idea and going back to fix things in films. For example in that 80s classic "Just One Of The Guys" when Terri tells Rick she's a girl, he comes back with, "Right, and I'm Cyndi Lauper" Except he says it wrong - LOW-per instead of Lopper. That has always bugged me- nobody in production picked up on that. It was 1984 -did they not put on a radio, MTV, or even wrestling? Maybe the special edition DVD can have the redubbed line- just leave in the part where she flashes him......
So here's my question: In a million years, did you ever think this would happen? One decade ago, I didn't even have an e-mail address or know what the Internet was ... now I can watch Piper slam a coconut against Snuka's head whenever I want? What will the world be like 10 years from now? Is it possible to procrastinate for 24 hours a day? Are we headed that way? -Bill Simmons on YouTube. | JayJayDean

I also think that they should be able to go back in and add in nudity in movies where THEN the actress in question wouldn't do it but later on in her career she went ahead and did (and it kind of made no sense that she WASN'T naked in a particular scene). My #1 example on this is Halle Berry, playing a STRIPPER in "The Last Boy Scout", is WORKING ON THE STAGE in that ridiculous cowboy get up (yeah, RIGHT) but then she went ahead later on and did "Swordfish" and "Monster's Ball", so go ahead and have her actually be stripping in the background now, because that would just make more sense.

I'll admit that I'm not a hardcore Star Wars fan, but I've wanted to see the original, un-enhanced versions of the original trilogy, after I watched the 2004 Edition of the trilogy on DVD. I was only able to watch the original versions on videotape in its full-screen glory.

Don't even get me started on that subject.
That still disgusts me how were supposed to believe that a professional bounty hunter (Greedo) misses Han Solo from 3 feet away.
Not to be a complete dork here, but Greedo was NOT a 'professional bounty hunter'.
According to the 'Tales From Mos Eisley' book (which was pretty good.), Greedo's very first job as a bounty Hunter was going after Han. If I remember the story correctly, he was doing it to get money for his family or something. Also, he was barely out of his teens, so him not doing the job the way it was supposed to be done... such as missing Han from three feet away, kinda made sense.
...but Han DID shoot first. I agree with that. Han wasn't all that great of a guy, you know.
I'm guessing that rodians must age very, very slowly or something, being that Greedo went mano y mano with baby Anakin... | ekedolphin

This is a case of over-retconning, IMHO...
From that page you linked to: Greedo's scuffle with Anakin Skywalker was cut from The Phantom Menace, but the deleted scene is included as part of the bonus material on the DVD. The original intention was that this Greedo would be the same Greedo seen in A New Hope, and that Wald's prediction would foreshadow Greedo's death at the hands of Han Solo.
However, in order to keep the Expanded Universe backstory developed for the A New Hope character intact, later references have identified the Rodian who fought with Anakin as Greedo the Elder. Since Wald was not cut from The Phantom Menace, some fans confuse him with the elder Greedo.
To sum up: The Expanded Universe is not canon, only the movies. But, is a deleted scene canon? Did we really need someone retconning a throwaway joke in a deleted scene so Greedo's NON-CANON backstory would not be tainted?

Also, I'd like an edition of the original trilogy without incest, but that's just me.
