The US Army, funding a video game. Don't know what the thread became when I wasn't looking, though. Oh, new twist on the deal... they're offering this game.. for free? *shrug* Probably more news in the next month.

"Hate, who do I hate? You tell me."
"Who do you love?"

Well guess I must have misjudged the maturity level of the forum or the pop culture IQ (can't believe it got that bad that fast). For the betterment of us all I shall never post about another Robin Williams movie.

What about Popeye?
Then I can write a washing bill in Babylonic cuneiform, And tell you every detail of Caractacus's uniform; In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral, I am the very model of a modern Major-General.
You guys can talk about Popeye all you want...but I shall refrain. Must...have...strength...
As for the game, on one level I really want this game to rock. I like "realistic" FPS (ala Rainbow Six and to some extent Goldeneye...well it's more realistic than the others out there.) And think that a game that took the tactical side of Rainbow Six, mix it with full scale battles, actual military tactics and online play would totally rock! (An added bonus of driving a tank would be fun as well...crunchies!!)
But the realist in me smells the stink of PR on this one.

Anybody else dig the New Adventures of Popeye on the Family Channel back when before any three letters appeared before the term Family Channel? I especially loved the Anti-Drug segments. Hilarious stuff.

Believe me, I thought nobody outsife of Wausau had an Ampex ESS-5 stillstore, but when I moved down to Champaign, much to my horror, there sat my old nemesis. What was stranger was that it wasn't as functional as the one in Wausau.
