About ten different stories in my Facebook feed saying tonight will be the night that it's finally announced that Randy Savage will finally get the recognition he deserves. I'm still interested in all the backroom deals that happened between WWE and the Poffo family to make this finally happen.
Pretty much the only right choice. They've never done a posthumous headliner before, so I wonder if he'll close the show. Lanny's speech, I assume that's who will be speaking in his place, is something I'm looking forward to.
They should have some production intern sit down and watch the hundreds of hours of Macho Man interviews from over the years and splice together an acceptance speech, similar to what they do on Fallon with Brian Williams.
Not sure how I feel about Hogan doing it. I would prefer Steamboat, but beggars can't choose. Punk would've been sublime.
Originally posted by oudomAccording to the WWE Network facebook page, Hulk Hogan will induct Macho Man. Sorry Lanny!!
For deceased wrestlers, they always have a family member give the actual speech. Hogan, assuming he's the guy, would merely induct him.
According to Lanny (and, of course, Hogan), Hogan and Savage made peace, and since Lanny believes Hogan's side of things, there's no issue with Hogan inducting Savage since he appears to have the family's blessing.
The Flair/Orton speeches were made even better when it went to commercial and the guy from SportsCentre was looking all thoughtful and said "I think that Randy Orton has given Ric Flair, and all of us, somethimg to think about."
