| #1 Posted on 24.1.02 2048.31 | Is his new persona like "HBK-2002"? From the hair, to the mannerisms, to the interviews, he is a carbon copy of HBK from DX, without the raunchiness. Also Jericho is dressing about as good/bad as HBK did during that time. Is it just me or am I on to something?

| #3 Posted on 24.1.02 2107.32 | And don't forget those red tights, they looked JUST like HBK's. I also do see a bit of Flair-esque old-school tricks in the ring. If he starts doing the eye-poke, flips/flops, and even more, kneeling and begging not to be hurt, then I'll freak out...

When he loses the belt, I will be willing to lay money down on him claiming a conspiracy is against himself...btw, I wonder what happened to Ralphus???

| #10 Posted on 24.1.02 2157.29 | What has been the most crative thing he has down in the WWF? The Chris Benoit/Dr. Seuss spin off and that's about it. When he first arrived, his promos were pretty damn funny.
"Mick Foley, people didn't buy your book because it was good. They bought your book because they were hoping that you would die at the end."
To Road Dogg:
"If having an ugly haircut and wearing stupid clothing is 'kicking it doggy style', well, you can just count me out DADDY O!"
Listing the great IC champions of years gone by...
"Ricky Steamboat (pop). Rick Rude (pop). Randy Savage (pop). The Mountie (confused reaction)."
Then he turned face and we got nothing but silly Steph insults. Hopefully, they'll let him loose a little, even if they are trying to make him more serious. | asteroidboy

| #11 Posted on 24.1.02 2246.53 | | I agree. Jericho's stuff lately has been mildly funny, but not really inspired. He just seems to go for the obvious gags and trot out the same phrases over and over.. (like "larger-than-life, living legend). It's not bad, but it's not great, either. Kurt Angle is the much better heel, at the moment. | The Vile One

| #12 Posted on 24.1.02 2348.18 | I tell you something inspired Jericho did do tonight. He created a new catchphrase that will storm the WWF like nobody's business? WHAT?! No, what is the thing of yesterday, now it is BRAHMA-BABY! That is what Jericho now calls the Rock. Anyway, for those wondering what happened to Ralphus, Jericho stopped using him b/c he thought the joke ran its course. I think Sullivan used Ralphus after Jericho left WCW. I'd also like to add, that Kurt Angle stole most of his comedy heel material from Chris Jericho.

| #13 Posted on 25.1.02 0019.58 | Yeah, Angle does use some Jericho elements, but I think that Edge/Christian were more of a WCW Jericho rip off. Mainly because they would act like jerks, make up words, whine and complain and still WIN. An almost exact carbon copy of Jericho in WCW.

| #14 Posted on 25.1.02 0118.34 | As for Jericho returning to his whiny funny ways, I wouldn't count on it unless you want him to turn face again.
He said himself in a WWF.com interview shortly after winning the title that he only used that character to get himself noticed in WCW. He HAD to be funny or else no TV time. This resulted in many classic stuff.. (Deano's career, Prince Nakimaki's skirt, Juivi's mask, etc)
WWF Champ Jericho does not have to resort to funny stuff like that. He has to be a HUGE asshole that you wanna hate. Thus the larger than life stuff. No way the crowd is gonna pop for that, unlike lines like Never..eeeever agayne.
For being HBK/Flair-ish..both were very classic heel champs so it's obvious he compares. HBK was cocky, Flair was cowardice and stuff..
Ralphus was paired to Norman Smiley for some reason. Whatever..

| #15 Posted on 25.1.02 1005.33 | In no way was I dissing Y2J, I just noticed when my gf asked was he trying to copy HBK. She said, "All he needs is the 80s Sunglasses." Then we looked at a tape of the WM match with Austin buildup and I saw the similarities. the similarities were almost shocking. The Y2J is HBK-2002. Not that it is a bad thing.

| #16 Posted on 25.1.02 1143.28 | Honestly, from what I'm getting out of him, there is a bit of HBK vibe, but much more of a Flair circa late 80s vibe.. the HBK vibe only exists because HBK borrowed from Flair when he was working out what his character should be.. all good heels turn to Flair these days for something..
What I want to see, if a Steph/Jericho pairing is in the future (and I fear it may be) is to see Jericho break out Space Mountain.. that would have me laughing my ass off... | Net Hack Slasher

| #17 Posted on 25.1.02 1633.55 | I truly think Jericho is so much better as a heel then as a face, it just suits him so well.
I do think he needs a some guy that he could bitch around, I remember Ralphus when he forced him to wear a dress and Jericho was in the ring doing his Model show runway voice while Ralphus comes down to the ring in a purple dress (why do I remember this?)
I also dug The Fink as the #1 Jericholic time when Chris first entered the Fed, his feud with Shamrock Jericho would tell Fink to put his stuff in the trunk, Fink would do it Chris would take off leaving poor Fink with Shamrock.. Also liked Jericho sneaking into the arena hiding from Shamrock with a mexican mask put his sissy pineapple hair was sneaking up from a hole on top of the mask... | SerWolfe

| #20 Posted on 25.1.02 2007.49 | In either case, he's still cutting captivating promos. The nearly-in-tears promo from smkdn last week was the exact right thing for his character. As far as I can tell, he's doing a hybrid of HBK/WCW whiny ass, and it's working great. By the way, aren't evil guys supposed to have a goatee?
