It's a first step but an agreement is still a ways off. The mission of Creative Heartwork, Inc. Y!: # 2 Posted on 8.6.05 1811.00 | Instant Rating: 1.74 Any step is closer to hockey. While they still need to agree on what they'll do with free agency and arbitration, the big thing was the cap. I am hopeful that this is the start of a new CBA and the return of the NHL in October. Lemony-fresh victory is mine!

Where were these fucking 14-hour sessions back in October, guys? Screw the NHL. "You can look the other way once, and it's no big deal, except it makes it easier for you to compromise the next time, and pretty soon that's all your doing; compromising, because that's the way you think things are done. You know those guys I busted? You think they were the bad guys? Because they weren't, they weren't bad guys, they were just like you and me. Except they compromised... Once." -- Jack Bauer

Where were these fucking 14-hour sessions back in October, guys? Screw the NHL. Bettman's always been about crushing ze union. His owners lost, collectively, much less money by not playing this season than they did in any recent year of the latest CBA. The owners (and Bettman) needed to prove to the NHLPA that they weren't worried about tossing away a whole season to change the system. DVDs; Blog

Betteman has done a nice job against the union. The managing of the league is a whole different story.
Well, Ed Belfour dropped out of the tourney today. Makes Canada's goaltending that much better by putting Jose Theodore in there along with Marty Brodeur & Luongo.
